hey fellas,im just about to pull the trigger on a south park, realy nice shape and kinda exspensive, but it's really nice. how do i know / what to look for if it was made as a HUO or if it was made as a commercial machine for a route? are commercial machines more robust? better built?

going to look at a junkyard also, honest opinions of what you guys like better of the two machine would be greatly appreceated!
not getting into the route business just for my home use.

Have you played southpark? It is a great route game but it gets very tedious as a home use game.

There is really no way to tell for sure if it is home use only without a clear trail of paperwork showing purchase history. condition is the most important factor.

The Boston pinball Ebay sales summary lists the prices as such:
$2,187 Average price
$800 Lowest price
$4,975 Highest Price
$2,181 Year to date average

Pay over 3k and i think you are way out of the norm on this one.

Good luck with your purchase! I owned it for a while and the guests in my home loved it. I traded it for Taxi and Bride of pinbot. best trade I ever made.

I have not played a lot of JunkYard. But I would personally take it over another southpark

In the case of a southpark, HUO means it's never been on location, not that it wasn't built for commercial use.

paragon, is there a difference though? or did they all build the same?

Same machine.

Look at Mr. Hankey. A routed version invariably has corn in it.

lol
There were only a handful of titles built for the home. Every other title was built for commercial use but might not have ever gone on route.
Things to look for,
Coin slots worn? (they can be easily replaced though)
Coin mechanisms missing or show wear inside? (still easily replaced)
Other than that, condition is what matters. HUO pins should show less wear on the playfield as long as it was well maintained.

I'll refrain from posting my opinion on South Park, but I will say that between the two that JunkYard is the way to go. Much better game.

Easy, one hasn't been played at all and is perfect condition, no coin wear, no flipper wear with nothing broken. DMD is strong, and it looks like it hasn't been touched.

The other is HUO.
