Quoted from Switch:Finally joined the club last night. Found one kinda close (7 hours) for a somewhat reasonable price on eBay. Condition wasn't as good as it looked in the photos, which is how it goes sometimes but it plays 100%. Planning on a color DMD for this one and some LEDs. I have a couple of common issues I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to address it.
1. The Kenny hole has horrible wear and I can actually rub on it and get wood to shard off. I was thinking of trying to seal/repair the area with some epoxy and create a decal to actually cover the wood area to hide the repair? Has anyone doe this before?
2. The toilet is cracked and has seen better days. I didn't see this part available on Marco so not sure if I can get one somewhere else?
3. This is the worst one to fix. The roller over switch area on the right inlane has some of the worst wear I have ever seen. it is wore clean into the fibers of the wood. I was thinking about using a cliffy protector or filling it with epoxy and using a decal to disguise the repair.
I'm sure these are common problems for these games and can certainly be fixed to players condition. Pretty excited to get one for under the ridiculous market price now even if it needs a little love. These games are killers on route so it seems hard to get a nice one without paying a premium.
1. Mine showed wear but not too crazy. I smoothed it off and put several coats of Polyurethane on it. Looks fine.
2. Good luck with this one. I've seen them listed but really expensive. I don't even know where to start taking it apart.
3. The balls coming out of the Cartman VUK land right on it. I got mine cleaned up reasonably well but if it gets any worse, I'd go for a Cliffy.
As an FYI, if you are going to upgrade to LED's, you need non-ghosting.
