Just joined as well. Kind of a project, as my Kenny is reading phantom hits when playing, but if I go into the test menu neither the opto or subway switch show closed, but I can manipulate them by hand any they work fine. Start a game, and Kenny will start taking hits again. Any idea where to begin? Nothing is showing in the diagnostics menu, and the switches work fine in the test menu. May have to keep digging around.

Quoted from Schwaggs:

Welcome to the club!
I would start by pulling the 2 opto boards, cleaning them up, resoldering the LEDs and wires onto the board and reinstalling.

Thanks. I'll try that out tonight and see what happens. Also have Mr. Hankey problems, but I'll save that for another day.

Quoted from rwarren28806:

Ditto this. One of the LED's is coming unsoldered. These are the touchiest things on the game. They are a PITA and you have to readjust them frequently. But it is worth it to see Kenny working properly.

Thanks, I pulled, cleaned and resoldered, and still acted up. Put pressure on the receiver and it went away. May have to pull and reflow all components on the board. Will try when it acts up again.

So far, so good. So I'm guessing the optos will need adjustments every once in awhile. And is there a suitable replacement for the Mr. Hankey weldment?

Quoted from Boomer71:

What problem are you having with Mr. Hankey? blowback1976

Missing him completely. The assembly itself can be pushed down to lock, but when it pops up it will never go down. So I have this ugly metal rod sticking out of the tank all the time. Tested in portal menu and it won't go down unless you force it.

Yes, Mine were fastened right under the plastic around the post on each side. I got them from Marco.

Thanks for the pics. Mine were missing as well, have new ones coming in.

Anyone know what type of material is used on the toilet lid to guide the ball? Mine is almost off, and would like to replace it.

Thanks for the replies. I'll see what I can track down.

So I ended up reusing the same strip of material for my ball guide on the toilet lid. Now, I have rebuilt Mr. Hankey, with new spring, and coils. Now my new issue is, no he'll go down and not come back up. Now I've begun adjusting the lip of the the weldment, and I'll get it to were it works 1 out of 10 times, or it gets stuck again.

I'm guessing the spring tension is too tight, and there is too much pressure on the small coil. Anyone have similar issues when rebuilding.

Took an additional 3hrs of adjusting the latch on Mr. Hankey, but she's fine now.
