Quoted from lowndes8:

Is it worth getting the profanity ROMs for my machine?

I've heard they are funny, but not worth breaking a lot of the game play. I really wish it was possible to merge the two rom sets together, or more importantly get the game to save progress on all the shots other than Mr.Hankey or Cartman. I'll never get Volcano mode because of the damn right drain.

About a week ago I knocked the kenny opto out of alignment again so I decided I needed a more permanent solution. I designed guards to fit over the led's and keep the ball from hitting them. They replace the mounting posts for the plastics. I realized when trying to install the left one that I would have to remove the left plastic to get it in so I also made a second style that snaps over the existing post. I have 2 more sets printed. Is anyone interested in a set for $25 shipped in the us?

Thats actually really neat! I will get back to you on that! I've got a few other fixes i need to take care of first.

Can someone take a picture of their yellow flash light on top of the left ramp? My keeps getting hit by the ball and I don’t think I put it back right after taking the ramp out.

Thanks! mine isnt like that at all! My light looks like its using a computer motherboard standoff, its maybe 1cm off the ramp!

#407 1 year ago

you can kinda tell from this picture i have on my phone. Im in the process of putting new rubbers and LEDs in. I just have to finish up around Kenny now. I bought the Green Star posts for the left ramp and put white bands on them to look like Snowy trees like in the artwork. I like the way it turned out

#408 1 year ago

That is a very cool idea.
I will likely copy that one.....

#409 1 year ago

The green and white looks good. I checked my standoff and it's just a 1" tall plastic tube and a long screw, you can probably find something at the hardware store.

Thanks for the measurement. Worst case, ill use an old post sleeve, or cut a BIC pen lol.

Does anyone have access to a STERN/Sega White Star CPU, 520-5136-00 BSMT2000, board? I have one but is has battery damage and need a new one as board repair might not be possible. I considered replacing it with the newer STERN/Sega White Star CPU, 520-5300-00, board, but K's Arcade clearly states in their notes for the newer board that the South Park code does not work with the newer Atmel chipset on the 520-5300-00 board and that only the older BSMT2000 chipset on the older board will allow the voices in the game to function properly. Thanks for any help on this.

I really like the look of that too! Thanks for sharing.

Next time you have that ramp out, clean it top and bottom with some Novus 2. It will really improve the clarity of that ramp plastic!

Didn't get around to making this part for a while. Then forgot to post final result as I had intended...I Wound up doing an Adhesive graphic on the top side of some polycarbonate. Not perfect, but not too bad once its in machine.
Thanks again for the image help, it gave me a good starting point since the original was missing a couple chunks.

Quoted from oropuro:

make about 100 of those and 100 of the ones on the other side and you will have some buyers here! great job

For copyright reasons, I am sure I cannot make repro pieces.
I have, however been working on a couple of custom art pieces to fit that spot. I HONESTLY have no idea if there is an interest or not....

I am NOT a professional and can't currently print directly on plastics...

But, I just want to check....if I made a custom art piece that would fit in that location, would there be any interest from you guys??

Each piece would be hand made and have to be on a printed media adhered to polycarbonate/lexan but it would be much nicer than a broken/missing piece...

Just seeing if there is ANY interest before I bother proceeding.

Thanks guys!

If there is an interest, I could certainly work on a custom graphic for the other side of Kenny as well!

#415 1 year ago

I'm not suggesting anyone break copyright laws but I'm genuinely interested in what level of protection there is on the art on those plastics. They don't contain any character likeness so would redrawing them in flat colors without the pixelation be enough to count as different? What is the protection on the likeness of trees?

Quoted from pacmanretro:

If you reverse print the image on water slide decals, apply it to the underside of the plastic and then spray a thin coat of white over the back of the decal they can look quite nice.

I hit it with Novus 3, 2 and 1. I dont think its gonna get any better unless i flame polish, which scares the crap out of me! lol

This freaking game and not saving shot progress is driving me crazy haha. And the Right outlane...everytime the ball gets near it, its over. So frustrating. Idk how people say this is an "easy" machine. The only easy shots IMO are Kenny, and Chef. The ramp isnt too bad, but sometimes the ramp will screw you as well, falling right into the drain. And most of the time trying to get into Cartman, it ends up bouncing around and goes down the right outlane

#418 1 year ago

pacmanretro's post about finishing his kenny plastic reminded me that I never got around to completing mine. I finally printed my water slide decals and put it together. I printed an entire sheet of decals when I did mine so I have 8 spare decals. If anyone wants to try making their own replacement send me a pm with your address and I'll mail you a decal. You still have to cut the plastic, apply the decal and spray paint the back but it's yours if you're up for the challenge. I've got some pictures from along the way if you need some guidance.

Figures can be found on eBay. Pricey, IMO, but they can be found.

#422 1 year ago

i totally agree and was hoping to find somewhere else and more reasonable for what they are

Just got my SP pinball a couple months ago. Me and my family love it. Its in great shape short of 2 things. 1...the Kenny optics which I just read how to fix on here (thanks guys). 2.... sometimes when you shoot chef it does not register and the machine will start cycling through all the kickers until it pops out. Any suggestions?

It sounds like your switch is going bad, you have a cracked solder connection to the switch or the Y actuator arm might have been bent so the switch isn't always activated. I would try running the switch test to see if it's registering every time when you manually press it. If that's the case the ball is probably not pressing the arm down far enough at times and it just needs to be bent up a bit, otherwise you probably need a new switch. Also it never hurts to look under the playfield at the connections to make sure none of them are cracked or loose. The switch part number is 180-5116-01, marco and pinball life look to have them.

Unfolded my south park I bought last summer. Finally have a slot for it.
Is it correct to get Mr hankey multiball by shooting Kenny?
I looked thru the manual last night and there is only very vague and non game specific game play outline.
I did see to my surprise that kenny has lights inside the toy. Anyone ever go in after those?

With the standard ROM's it is not correct. Possibly something is wired incorrectly.

The lights inside Kenny can be changed. There is a small screw you have to remove and not a lot of room to get to it. I put bright LED's in mine. It looks great.

To light multiball you need to hit the Mr Hankey targets 5 times. Multiball will light at the ramp and until you shoot the ramp any hit to the Hankey targets adds 100k to the base jackpot value. Shoot the ramp to start. The toilet opens and the ball is fed to the right inlane. Multiball is yet another 5 ball affair. The Hankey targets are worth a base jackpot of 1M and each jackpot lights a character for a double jackpot. 5 Hankey jackpots lights the ramp for a super jackpot starting at 5M. I think collecting a super jackpot doubles the value of the next round of jackpots, however I could be wrong. The second super jackpot is worth 10M and each one after that is worth an extra 5M with no known limit. Multiball ends when 1 ball remains.

I can start multiball by hitting ramp or kenny.

I have this same issue with the Cartman VUK. I figure its just the switch that needs to be replaced.

I have hit Mr. Hankey 5 times, and then had the ball go down the right return and it started multiball. Doesnt happen often, but i think something is jacked in the code of this game personally. Too many oddities happen, not to mention the unfinished nature of shot saving between balls.

My cartman vuk was the same way and it was just the arm that needed to be adjusted. That switch arm takes a beating, I'd check it first.

I agree check the arm adjustment first. Mine got out of adjustment after a year of playing the pin.

Yea i figured that was the problem. I'll get around to it eventually. I need to get myself a set of cliffy's. I reached out to him, i just need to pay him and wait patiently lol.

#439 1 year ago

Any of you guys have a problem with the ball kickout? Every few times the ball will kickout of the through and go back down and come out again. Its kind of annoying.

I went thru the settings and changed game play from easy to moderate to see if that changes anything.

Changing that setting will not change the rules for getting mulitball.

The right return lane thing is a known issue. You have to go down the lane without hitting anything else immediately after initializing multiball. I'm not sure what you mean about shot saving between balls.

In response to the kickout, occasionally this happens to mine also. I believe it can be fixed by bending the guide a bit. Since it doesn't really affect game play, I haven't messed with it.

Quoted from rwarren28806:

I'm not sure what you mean about shot saving between balls.

How if you shoot Stan, Chef, Kyle it resets if you drain. But it saved the shot for Kenny and Cartman. I know thats just how the game is, but its stupid imo. Total pain in the ass and makes its difficult to get a good score. Maybe I just suck at the game.

I flipped up the playfield and found the plug from to Kenny switched with the plug to the toilet. They have the same plug and it was the wire colors that gave it away.

I now have to hit the ramp to start Mr Hanky Multiball.
Its all good.

I pulled the light assembly out of Kenny and found all of the wires cut.
The plug was at the bottom of the machine.
