Anyone know of someone selling in this area? I've traveled to Houston, TX for my first machine and now that its time to get a second I can't see to find one. Seems like there's only a handful of machines in the entire state.

    Thanks

It's slim pickings around here. I've only bought ONE of my six machines in LA. There's always Craigs List, but things either sell instantly or are insanely overpriced. There's a place down the street from my house that sells pins, but the prices are nuts... like $3000 for dirty burned out System6 games.

You might contact PinballPark, he was selling some nice machines in Lafayette here.

Where in LA are you? I'm on the Northshore and have yet to meet any pinheads here.

I'm in Lafayette, I know Madisonville has Lakeside Distributers but they don't have much. I tried buying a Donkey Kong Arcade Cabinet from them but its really hard dealing with those guys. As far as PinballPark I saw his ad. That's what brought me to this site. But he's yet to reply. I'm in the market for a few more pins but I don't feel like going to Houston.

If you don't mind a little bit of a drive, I hear the Bottom Boyz have a few games they're looking to unload at reasonable prices ...

Bottom Boyz? You have any more info of them?

It's an old Pinside joke. One of the most (in)famous threads in the history of Pinside had to do with one person's trek into gang territory in an attempt to procure some pins. If you have the time, it's definitely worth the read ...

    Wow. Ummm... yeah.

Half way through the thread..... its a really great piece.

I check craigslist everyday several times a day. The good pins sell fast. There was a guy in Luling that had some good pins but I don't know if he sold them all or not. I found my Maverick in Sorrento. I found my World Cup in Central. I found my Indy 500 in Denham Springs.

It takes diligent looking every day to find the pins around here. There is currently a SMB for $2K in Baton Rouge on CL...

Hey King, (and others in TX & LA that drop in on this thread) you should join Gulf Coast Pinball Club. Stay in the loop and come to events. Surely someone will have something up your alley. What exactly are you looking for? Hope this helps!

Thanks bud. I purchased my first unit a few months ago and fell in love. I suffer from acute Impulse Control so now its time to grow a collection.

We just finished up a charity event a couple weekends ago, and are planning another get together in October. Join the group on Facebook and keep in touch. It's a great way to network with people in our area that share our addiction. Also, there is a pretty big show coming up in Houston November 7-8 thrown by HAAG: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Houston-Arcade-Pinball-Expo/223834217626840. There's always a bunch of pins and arcades for sale at the show.

Yeah I plan on going out to Houston in November. I don't have a facebook account but was able to look at you guy's page. Looks like you'll had fun at the Charity event. I'll be looking forward to the next event you guys host as Beaumont is less than two hours away.

There is a tournament event in New Orleans this coming Saturday. Probably the best collection in the area, if you are willing to make the drive east.

Check out http://mystickrewe.com/ and act quickly if you want to participate.

I was just in the Big Easy about 3 weeks ago, but didn't have enough time to play pinball because I had the family with me doing the cruise thing. My wife and I did get a night out to ourselves to enjoy Bourbon Street, though. Man, you guys really know how to get down!

    Hi KingZac,

Welcome to the joys of pinball in the state of Louisiana.
Seems like you have already figured out that Louisiana is definitely not the center of the pinball universe.

I've picked up 3 machines from Houston area over the past two years or so, and most of my other pins came from the Midwest. Not sure if PinballPark has any pins left to sell or not. You can't get any closer than that.

Hope to see you at the Houston Arcade & Pinball show in Nov.
I made it there the last two years and really enjoyed it.

This other regional thread is a good one to keep up with to help stay in touch with what is going on:

    EEE,

I signed up to go to the charity fundraiser pinball tournament in New Orleans this coming Sat July 26.
    See you there!

Thanks guys for the info. I'm going to read about the new Orleans tourney. Sounds fun.
Man a pinball fan in Parks, La it's a small world. What are your plans for new Orleans?

I know a local person (Baton Rouge) trying to sell a POTC HUO for $4500. If that sparks anyone's attention send me a PM.

    #22 9 years ago

I would be interested but currently I don't have time to go pick up in baton rouge.
