Stern, 2003Are there any pinsider's on here in South Carolina? I own a pinball bar called The Red Door Tavern that has 5 machines in Columbia SC. Trying to network and find out where all the fellow South Carolina pinheads are. I want to build a solid league so anyone on here in the area please post on this thread. Lets get pinball happening in SC.
Yep - alive and well in Duncan, SC! Will have to look the Tavern up next time I am in Columbia. I am not sure how many there are in the upstate...Most of the guys I know are more on the video side of things.
We have tried to do some things around here but its tough. Keep us all in the loop!

Yep. In Aiken, SC. About 45-50 min trip up I-20 to Columbia. It'd be nice to meet some fellow pinheads around the area. Erok PM me some info about leagues and such, def would like to get involved in something along those lines. Go Tigers! All in!
Cool some people. Yeah it seems everyone is spread out around here. I will be having a tournament night every month. We have one this Saturday starting at 6:00pm. Sign up starts at 5:00pm. If you can't make it to the tournament feel free to stop in any time. We are open 7 days a week and the games are always on.

Awesome. You guys have some nice pins in your collections. When I can get some free money I want to pick up a High Speed or F-14. I love the Sterns we have at the bar, but there's something about the older games that just feels good playing them.
Man I wish you were around 5 yrs. ago. ( When did you open? ) I used to live in Lexington & then South Congaree up until early 2009, then moved back to MI for family reasons.
I worked in Columbia every day delivering Miller beer for Beverage South, heck if you were around back then I would have delivered to you at some point as I believe I've been to every bar in that city. ( Delivering, of course! )

The next tournament date has been set and it's going to be a great one. We will be having a Halloween party and Pinball tournament at The Red Door Tavern Saturday October 26th. And this one counts for IFPA.
Round 1 Seeding Round - Groups play every machine and are awarded points by how they place in each game. Points are added up and you are seeded in the bracket for round 2.
Round 2 Elimination Round - This round is a head to head double elimination round.
$5.00 to enter. Cash prize for the winner based on number of entries.

Welcome to town Kneissl! I will let you know next time WolfMarsh and I are going to get together to play some pinball and maybe you can join us.
I definitely want to take a trip up to the Red Door sometime soon...timing just hasn't worked out yet.

Wow! Wish I had found this earlier. I am in Charleston, SC and would not mind travelling to Columbia. Sounds like fun.
Have you thought about having the tournament on IFPA. They need a place in South Carolina to be a part of state championship series.
We are proud to announce that all Red Door Pinball tournaments will now be for IFPA points. We also will have them on a set monthly schedule. The tournament will now be the last Sunday of every month. Tournaments start at 6:00pm and there is a $5.00 entry fee. We rotate games every few months. The current line up is Spiderman, Metallica Pro, T3, and Tommy.
The next tournaments will be March 30th and April 27th.
Hope to see you guys at an event.
Cool man, having it on a known day of the month (last sunday) makes it so much easier for me to plan in advance.

Here's a break down of how we run it.
Sign up by 6:00pm
All players divided in groups of 4 and assigned a machine.
We assign point s for each group on each machine.
1st - 3 points
2nd - 2 points
3rd - 1 point
4th - 0
Once all groups have played all the machines once we tally up the points and seed everyone into a tournament bracket.
From there it's head to head double elimination games.
$5.00 entry fee. Cash prize for winner. Counts towards IFPA.
We have plenty of room, a full bar, and full kitchen.

Had a blast at the last tournament! Can't get enough pinball. Have driven an hour and a half to Columbia every weekend since. This place is amazing just wish I lived closer. Counting the days till the 25th. Can't wait to see you guys again and play some pinball.
