Is it just me or has sound qualities in movies gotten worse over the years.

I just watched No time to Die James Bond and could hardly understand anything the people were saying.

No I'm not going deaf, but has anyone else notice this?

    Quoted from Theguyoverthere:

I’m glad I’m not alone on this! Every time I google this I’m always told “oh it’s called dynamic range, it’s supposed to be like that you just have to have it turned up loud and be ready for the loud explosions and have a good enough sound system”, etc
I call bullshit. I’ve tried turning up just the center channel to isolate audio and I think the actual quality of the voices is worse now. They sound … muddled, and just not very crisp. At least to me

I Googled it too. And found a bunch of BS that I really didn't understand. I'm just happy I'm not the only one that is seeing this or hearing it rather

    Quoted from snakesnsparklers:

What type of sound setup do you have? Do you have a dedicated center channel speaker? If you have a 5.1 or 7.1 channel setup and are using the native source audio then it should sound fine. For reference I watched this movie with a 5.1 channel setup and didn't notice any issues.

It's a Bose surround sound. Everything else sounds great but I think some movies are recorded poorly or the sound guys don't know what they are doing or the studios just don't care.
