Hi Pinsides,

I am a pinball collector/restorer not a operator and/or reseller.

I have a FT that I am having problems with the A12738 sound board.
Here is what is going on: When game is turned on, no sound at all. I can turn the sound up and down (it makes a popping noise for this) and appears to get louder and softer with the buttons on the door.
What I have checked:
1) Took my A12738 sound board out of my TZ and installed it in the FT. FT sound did work now (music and voice).
2) Checked the ribbon cable that was in the FT and it did work with the TZ sound board. So it appears that the sound board has problems and not the CPU, and/or the ribbon cable.
3) What I have replaced:
U1 - LM1875
U7 and U8 - TL084
U29 and U30 - 74LS374
C24 and C25 - I did not replace these, but they had been done prior to me getting the machine.

I did these replacements per reading on pinside, rec.games and what Clays - This Old Pinball site said (I have a copy of this site). The last chip I have not replaced yet is U17 - 55536 as this is another one I have read on that could be my problem.
I am at a loss to where and/or what I should do next.

Your suggestions would help.

Thanks Spudgunman! I have not used that site before, will do some reading and checking things out. Will post my finding of what was wrong when I find it.

PS: Yes, Nilroc there is something fishy going on with my machine. At least its not a fishy smell!
