    Quoted from robin:

That sucks! Water and pins == the worst combination I can think of (and I live meters below sea level so I can relate).
Let's show some support to our youngest EM collector, Pinside. Let's get this guy a sump pump. I'm throwing in 50 bucks to get started! Who's with me?

Wow what a community we have here. Everyone is willing to help out a fellow pinside when in need. I glad to be part of it

I look at it the other way. Look at the map ForceFlow posted. Where the hell is everybody???

Well it was posted not to long ago so how many of those people have been online in the last 12 hours from NJ, plus of those people how many see the post and actually click on it, then respond. Not everyone can be as sweet as you boob

    Quoted from ultimategameroom:

Asking for help moving the machines is completely fine in my opinion but asking for donations is ridiculous!!!
If you can't afford to maintain the dwelling that houses your large collection, It SCREAMS only one thing!
    That you are entirely overextended.
Being a young collector is no excuse! Life is full of unexpected nightmares like this and you won't be able to count on anyone but YOURSELF to resolve them!!!
Either find a safer location to store your pins or SELL what you need to in order to make the current location safe!
Young man,It's time to grow up and act like an adult not ask for handouts!

Completely agree with this. It's ok to ask for help moving things but asking for money is a little to much.

Don't get me wrong, I feel bad what happened to you but selling a machine to someone with the rights to buy it back later for the same price seems like a better way to get money. Think of it as a no interest loan. And if you never get to paying them back it's ok because they have the equivalent of it in a machine.

And to everyone who helps this young man I admire you. And I'm sure if any of you need help Otaku will be right there lending a hand

    Quoted from too-many-pins:

Just remember back to when you were "young & dumb" and look at things like you would a few months after you got out of high school.

I wish I could go back to when I was young and dumb. Alot more fun not having so many responsibilities and living life in the moment.

Just curious how much you have received in donations so far. Many generous pinsiders on here.

    Quoted from Otaku:

Thanks Tom. Nobody here yet, sent out a few replies but not sure if anybody is coming. Open door, though, so I guess we'll see. Probably will continue disassembly myself in a little to get started. If nobody shows up I think a friend is around tomorrow.

Let us know how you make out! Good luck today! My basement has a sump pump in it but I'm always terrified that the power will go out when I'm not home and flood! Very uneasy feeling around the rainy season of April in new England.
