It's amazing how this seems to be going right over your head.

You've asked people to send you money to pay for *your* house repair. Most people pay for their own house repairs.

My workshop roof just sprung a leak the other day and leaked a bit on one of my games. I'm not asking people here to pay to fix it.

So, that's why people are annoyed with you - we all have to pay our own way and they feel it's unfair for you to ask others to do it for you while you refuse to sell a game to pay for it yourself.

If you won't sell a game to help yourself, why should others help you?

That's a good point - I'm not faulting the generous people who are stepping up to help him. It's great how the community wants to help.

I think it's more about how "God helps those who help themselves." He has the power to help himself by simply selling one or two games to cover the costs, but instead of taking a personal hit, he's asking for handouts.

Recently I sold a bunch of pinball items to fund my purchase of restoration tools. It never once occurred to me to come asking for donations to help cover it. So it's a bit off-putting how casually he does it, and then dismisses the people questioning his method. Disappointing, even.
