Quoted from Lermods:

I've received a lot of requests for my apron cards and rather than keep sending them via email, figure I'll just post them here. If anyone has any trouble viewing them, please let me know. I think you can change them in terms of text font and color if you want.

Forgot to say Thank You (Now just need to find a color printer )

Quoted from Mbecker:

I don't think they ever get stocked as no one makes them? I got mine off amazon if you don't mind it looking different than original.. I think it fits pretty damn good considering it was not made specific for the game

Which ones did you grab?

Quoted from Pinhead306:

I just updated both my display and CPU 5.0. It’s awesome! Lots more animations and yea you just change both them and your good to go. A fellow pinsiders in town has a rom burner. The display chip is right on the back of the dmd I had no idea lol. Love this game!

Is there a place I can just download the roms so I can burn them?

#438 6 years ago

So...looks like it's time to update the code on mine, appears to have 2.04

#441 6 years ago
Quoted from Rondogg:

Where do you see the code version?

Went through every setting to no avail...then closed to coindoor and gave up....It then displayed all the version info etc on the dmd ..go figure

It also says it on the rom....(Forgot about that as well)

Quoted from Meloyelo51:

Thanks for the referral. I've have had several people ask so I added a listing. PM is fine too. The 8MB sound chips are a little more, but shipping covers everything ordered at the same time. I found this thread as alimerick was asking about the swearing and looking for his answer but apparently he already asked. Normally most games hover around sound 1.0...but it does look like older roms can affect the swearing and went through changes (in addition to the settings being correct or even available)

Just curious, how many roms are required to update the game to 5.0? Just the two, or are all those sound ROMs listed on your site required as well??

Noooooo. My stripper broke in half and blocked the ramp she was good while she lasted. What’s the best replacement at the moment? I don’t see actual replacements at Marco

Mine were the same way when I bought it, super glue.....Has held up fine for years

Stupid question, but which chip is used for the roms on Sopranos? Before I buy them already programmed I just want to see if I have them already and can just burn my own set. (The sticker on the stock ones blocks the chip #)

Edit: Looks like 27C040's, never mind... (Just happen to have a pile)

Added over 5 years ago:

Correction: CPU is a 27C010 Display is a 27C040

Quoted from Triball:

Thats $82 + shipping for the full set. That's why I want to flash the chips myself. Chip price is about $4.50 a piece.

Just use your originals, grab a cheap UV eraser (mine was like $8), takes like 15 min to erase them. I listed the required chips a few posts back for display and cpu, but seems like you may need all to change language? I had spares and burnt them, took a few minutes, once I used the right ones (cost is zero if you can do it yourself)

#578 5 years ago
Quoted from Triball:

Thanks. Yes, I need the voice chips as well. I'll get an UV-eraser. Some sites mentiones that these chips are OTP (One-time-programmable). Even though they have this UV window. Do you know if they in fact can be erased and flashed again?

Yes, can be erased and reused many times over.

Hey there, My dad's Sopranos machine seems to have a bad motor for the dancers. They barely move if at all. Trying to find the motor assembly for it, 500-6887-00 but no luck anywhere. Everyplace is out of stock. Any idea where I might find one? or how to repair one?

It's the belt, 100%. Mine did the same thing, slight "back and forth", old belt was hard, found new one in goody bag. All good since.

I got my machine from a local vendor for 2.5k, and it was heavily routed, but after a month or so of TLC I finally got the playfield done!
I wont bore you guys with a bunch of pictures, Ill just bore you with a few. Check out the mileage on the safe!
Happy with how it came out, especially as this is my first time working on a pinball table. All new roms, ColorDMD, and LED OCD and GIzmo. Not to mention I put a bunch of new parts in just about all the mechs underneath.
Little before and after I made of the LED boards for a friend, figured Id share.

Made underboos for the first time too after it was done! Next I wait on retrorefurb's decals and heal the cabinet.

Quoted from LeMansFan:

Okay, duh, I figured out my problem. I'd never replaced the AA batteries! Now that I researched I realized this was a rookie mistake and I should have been replacing them every year or so.
The battery holder fell down off it's location on the board. The batteries did have some corrosion on them but thankfully nothing got on the board. I knocked the corrosion off the battery holder when I took the batteries off.
Is it okay to just put new batteries in there, or because of the minor corrosion should I get a whole new battery holder?
The battery holder appears to be only held in with a plastic bracket thing and a zip tie, there are two little prongs that go into the board. Is that correct? Nothing needs to be soldered, it just needs to make contact with those little prongs/pins?

Grab NVRAM and never have to worry again.

Shaker motor kit
Hi Guys just wondering if anyone has installed a shaker motor. This is my first Stern so not familiar with how easy it is .... a kit would be awesome , I looked online but have't been able to find a simple plug and play kit in stock anywhere. Any leads or advice would be appreciated

I don't believe there is shaker support for Sopranos. But if the custom software was created for RFM with shaker support, someone must know how to program it in. Love the shaker in my RFM.

Who has a Pin2Dmd (Not a ColorDMD) in their Sopranos? Do you like it? I have ColorDMD's in my other machines, but refuse to pay $500 for anymore.

For those who have them, where did you get them? I'm looking at this retailer in Australia https://retrocity.com.au/products/pin2dmd?variant=43251409912041

I received an email from pinsound stating that they now have a stand alone shaker for Sopranos. I installed a pinsound shaker with a pinsound board a few months back and really like it. I probably would have chosen to just replace the speakers and install the stand alone shaker had it been available.

How does the shaker function with gameplay? I added one to my RFM, but programming was also added to trigger the shaker with certain gameplay. Just curious how a "stand alone" shaker interacts.

Edit: Nevermind, just read about it on their site. I'll wait till I'm a few beers deep, then $285 + shipping would sound as bad lol
