Quoted from DreamTR:

Hard for me to search through here but does anyone have any replacements for the pole dancers? Cheap ones on Amazon, someone else make them, etc?

Might want to check out the alibaba suppliers. Sometimes they will sell just one if it's something they have in stock and don't have to make custom. this one shoes 4 different girls you may be able to adapt.

Joey,8.9k! NIB,and pick it up!!P.S.I've never heard of "Sugartown Pinball" BUT,These guys have literally hundreds of used, and nib pins!If your looking for a older title, give them a jingle!

Just got my pin2dmv working (thanks to vbobrusev for the files) and it got me wondering about pinsound, are there any good mixes available? It seems that Sopranos would be quite a good game to do a decent mix for.

I agree. I just got a Sopranos (sold my first one years ago and just got one back. Fun game). Lots of great callouts would hopefully be available for an alternate Pinsound soundtrack. I have zero techie skills and hope someone with the technology chops could come up with one or two. Where’s the f’in money gets a little old (ok a lot old). Would be great.

Any of you guys need a cliffy protector set for sopranos? I have an extra set.

#1106 4 months ago

Looks like the pinball center is no longer shipping to the US. Anyone have a clue as to where i can get some plastics? I already looked at Marco, $300 is to much for the few i need. Any suggestions? Thanks

Which plastics in the set are you looking for?

Someone in Glenside, PA has a NOS set on Ebay for $248:

Thanks monk, but that one is missing the right outlane (very popular). Pinball center has them but no USA, what happened there? Thanks again.

not sure, but i'm finding pinball.center's plastics aren't always the right fit...

Marco has an easy break plastics set for $39 that I think includes that.

Is the one you're looking for one of these?

No, its the long skinny green and red along the right outlane. Shattered from an airball last night. Plastic pieces everywhere. I'm going to get the protector set from marco as soon as i can locate that skinny.

Ah, the one that divides it from the shooter lane?

Yes yes! You would think they would make that one out of iron.

By the way, if anyone cares. It was The Sopranos at the bowling alley that got me through my divorce. Had to have one at home.

relatable, got a routed Sopranos from a bowling alley, played the crap out of it, totally refurbed it, which got me though my daughter moving away to go to school.

Hey gang. Does anybody find that their games struggle during multiplayer games? My Sopranos is working great, with the exception that it seems to have all sorts of bugs ONLY during 4 player multiball games. My CPU/Display ROMs are v5.0. Never had this happen when I was running the 2.0 code my game came with (although a ton of other weird shit happened in that ROMset.

The main issue is that the game will just automatically end people's balls out of nowhere. Never all that consistent with any features or anything. New trough opto boards. Fairly certain the trough switches and diodes are in good order as far as I last checked.

Anybody?

Have to narrow down the issue, so I’m multiball the game just ends?

I’ve had a lwjp that endlessly kept multiball going, just ejecting balls out. Ended up sending the boards out for repair and that fixed it. Some issues are hard to find if it is deeper in the board than just a transistor, or only in multiplayer.

Exactly. Something like this will happen in multiplayer games. Peoples balls just end out of nowhere. To me that says it's either a code issue or a switch matrix issue (falsely triggering the trough switch) but who knows.

Do the trough switches register instantly or is there a "hold" type feature.

Also, dunno about all of you, but I'm now on my third safe toy. The original one in my game was busted. And during its time on location it's blown through TWO of the ones from Pinball Life. Pretty pricey part to have get torn apart every couple of months. On this most recent one I had my friend do some extra heavy duty (and messy as all getout but good enough) welds so it doesn't happen again.

Really weak point in the design if you ask me.

Also shoutout to Alan at Wedgehead who helped me work through tweaking this safe mech to work really nicely. Still haven't been but hope I can come visit PDX soon and play.

I bought the same part from PBL, had it break in the same spot, asked for a replacement and to their credit they sent it out quickly and for free. That one broke too, same way, a few weeks later. PBL subtly implied it was a me problem and they wouldnt replace it but did refund it.

Brought it to a local machine shop and had it over welded as you did and its been fine since over many plays.

Still happy with PBL, but i am glad it is not in fact a me problem.

Haven’t had the safe break but I will say the drop targets from Pbl and Marco break soooo much faster than the original ones as well.

Check the safe assembly (common failure point, they break - a LOT), and the stripper mech. If they don't turn, you probably need another drive belt. Pinball life has them.

I am not really sure about a shaker for this machine, I am not a shaker guy. Sometimes I feel like a shaker could shake things loose and break. Just a wonderment, but I would like to see some stats on whether that is true or not. Just my take on the shake.

#1132 64 days ago

I wouldn't put one in most of my games but I could see this one and since newer Sterns are made for them, I didn't know if that was a thing on older ones or not.

I put a pinsound plus with their shaker and new speakers and my family and I really like it.

When I contacted them in March they responded that they would be selling a Sopranos stand alone shaker "quite soon".

#1134 63 days ago

Thanks. Looks like "quite soon" = "not yet" and I have no interest in changing the sound board and speakers and being $800 into this, I just thought a shaker like whats in the new sterns would be cool. If anyone has a standalone option they've used, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.

I have sopranos stripper drive belts. $8 SHIPPED in a regular envelope (no tracking). I think they're about $5 plus shipping most places. If you're buying other stuff, get them at pbl or Marco, if you just need a belt or a belt and anything else we sell, get it from me.

Is there a direct replacement molding available for around the back box? I'm thinking about replacing the chrome.

#1140 30 days ago

So who can tell me what this is about.... Is it #colordmd issue or a code issue or a fault someplace I don't know about? It does this as part of the normal cycle as it goes through high score, Stern logo, etc etc. It stays on the screen for over 3 seconds and then moves to the next frame.

I have never seen that. Within 3 seconds mine starts.

#1142 30 days ago

Mine starts fine. It's not on start. It's as it goes through the different screens. One is press start, one is Stern pinball, on and on... And this is all that's all on the screen during one.

Only thing I can think is maybe it’s one of those settings where you can add some text where it’s the “jrcmic arcade” or something like that. Not sure where that is in the settings, but I’d look there. Did someone else own it before you? Maybe they went to change that and just gave up at A?

#1144 29 days ago

I checked that, nothing in there. Finally bit the bullet and did a reset, made sure custom message was off in options and we're good to go. Shrug.

Sooo much potential for a great updated package! I am not a computer guy or I would spear-head it!

Having an issue on my Sopranos and hoping for some help.
Fuse F21 (mostly the lower half coils) blows upon game startup and ball won’t eject to start game (trough coil included). Coils all look fine and no metal on metal shorting action.
I found some advice from another thread to try replacing the fuse, pulling the high voltage coil wire harness off of the driver board, and starting the machine again, and it did not blow the fuse instantly. So it’s not something wrong with the board?
Then I reconnected the coil wire harnesses, started the game with the coin door open, and then went to coil test to try the coils one by one to see if I could find a bad coil that way, but it turns out any of the coils (tried 2 random ones far away from each other) that go to F21 fuse seem to blow it on the second time it fires… the coils fire fine once.
What does this mean?

2 questions:

1: does anyone have a source for blood red flipper buttons that actually match the game?

2: why do some ops remove the shooter, what hack or method of cheating or whatever you want to call it does that prevent?

#1149 12 days ago

2: why do some ops remove the shooter,

What?? How can you play without the shooter??

#1150 12 days ago

They use the flipper buttons to launch the ball. It's a menu setting. I use this as well, but I'm curious what "exploit" operators or tourney ops are avoiding, something goofy you can do with the manual plunger but I don't know what it is.
