Quoted from McSquid:

No, I'm using the MPF lightshow creator made by Mark, maker of Nightmare before Christmas homebrew.

technically that does involve the monitor though as well, to get the light positions

What leds are you using in the pop bumpers? Looks pretty bright! The caps look fantastic as well

Quoted from McSquid:

I am using a 7 LED cluster from adafruit. The white coat base on the cap diffuses the light quite well.

Congrats on the win!

Those 7 led clusters look great — I wish there was a way to make it look like a single LED signal-wise in the serial chain though.. I’m strapped on LED positions using the existing FAST channels. Only got 1 led to spare for each pop. Just need a single color at a time but no idea if that’s possible to control a bunch of LEDs in parallel with a single serial signal .. probs not

Looks awesome! Thanks for the detailed write up!

Quoted from UNCgump:

Curious and maybe I missed, but why put it back together without full and final artwork?

Also feel like I missed this part somewhere, seems like a lot of work not to just wait? Is it to have it ready for a show?

Quoted from Fifty:

Same. It confuses me for a few seconds every time I look at the images. I confuse them with real flippers every time.

Also same.

The art is badass though..hoping it’s less noticeable/distracting once the rest of the art goes in so the main logo and flippers don’t stand out as much against everything around it. And/or with the different colored main flippers or flipper rubber.

Cool concept, but can’t decide if love or hate .. might have to see it in action in the machine

Great to meet you Ryan! Sonic is awesome — the work you’ve put into it really shows and is impressive! I wish there hadn’t been so many people wanting to play it so I could have gotten more time on it though lol — literally everytime I walked back to the hombrews there was a longer line on sonic than any other game in the place, minus maybe ccr. It usually looked like this:

I’m surprised it still detects with one at that angle, I always figured they had to be pretty straight on. Good to know! Nice to see you working on sonic again!
