So I finally got around to installing these AWESOME custom flipper buttons made for me by latenite04

They actually sent me these around Christmas. I grabbed them as part of my mail on the way out the door to my parents place for the holidays, when I went home I had Covid and forgot them along with the rest of my mail for several months x_x

Cleaned out my car the other day and was instantly excited again when I rediscovered these. They are wonderfully smooth, comfortable, fit perfectly, and if I ever get around to wiring lights to my cabinet I bet they would look great lit up.

latenite04 does not sell these yet, but if they ever do you can consider this an enthusiastic endorsement. Thanks so much!

That scroll animation does look pretty freaking awesome. If that’s how you pictured all the levels you can always just do them slowly over time when you get bored.

Maybe. There are over 100 and the right assets aren't available for a lot of them. I had thought of maybe starting with Sonic 1 and doing the "core" games (1,2,3,K,M)

for now, enjoy the treat if you make it to wizard mode

Those flipper buttons raise the level of cool on this machine at least +10 points! Super cool!

P.S. - I am not clicking on the wizard mode vids. Hopeful this will be sold by a manu. and I don't want to wreck the surprise endings.

Wizard mode is half done. Rather, I should say Wizard mode 1 is done. Will totally be ready for the shows. Cant really post anything else without spoilers so you will have to trust me for now that it is awesome

I wont be doing a dedicated stream for it, but once its in the main code if it happens during a stream then ::shrug::

In case its not obvious, taking a break from other stuff to focus on getting Sonic in top shape for the shows. Today this means a long OS reinstall to take full advantage of all the new hardware, and an update to the latest MPF version for some bugfixes. This is all very boring and frustrating but I want you all to have the best experience possible. I'm also planning on cramming an opto behind the door so you losers can finally have your dirty-pools. If anyone has any sound files of various games dirty pool call-outs send em my way. Would love to randomly play one whenever it happens.

you can rip them out with pinmame there lot's of fun ones (Not all of them for dirty-pools)

This is probably the number one feature request I've had for this game. FINE. Play DIRTY.

Originally I didn't think there was room to add this to this playfield version, but then I realized the screw holes for the tiny left wall lined up perfectly with the opto mount.

Still need to code it obviously, but that shouldn't be that hard since it can now be setup as a ball device.

It detects when a ball is stuck behind the door, like if a player manages to sneak it in there while its closing. This will allow the game to quickly release said stuck ball, and play a "dirty pool" show similar to Addams Family and other pins.

I’m surprised it still detects with one at that angle, I always figured they had to be pretty straight on. Good to know! Nice to see you working on sonic again!

Mbecker yeah it didn't work. Needs to be straight. Luckily I'm redoing the left ramp anyways so I'll get the room I need. I ran out of filament though so that wont be til Friday

New left ramp, V4 served well for ~6 months (I think?) but its cracked and needed a design update

- new curve profile
- Less wasted space on right side allows room for dirty pool opto
- base reduced for smoother transition
- matches right ramp now

Printed without issues on the first try

I also changed the knuckles mount to fix the two most common stuck ball spots. Even air balls back there are fine now (though you might still punch knuckles in the face. )

I'll be on Marco stream tomorrow playing and talking about the game!

Wizard modes are 95% done. Mostly polish and debugging remaining. After that the code will be 1.0 with all original intended features complete. I'll still add to it (I have a few more extra modes planned) but it will be an awesome milestone to call the code 1.0
