Quoted from Badamack:Ain't that the truth...
I'm thinking about remaking one, or more, with the cnc we have...
That's the spirit!
Quoted from cottonm4:Someway, somehow, I am going to have to figure out a way to brace the sides to remove this warp condition.
I just do a bar similar to what is in the Bally wide body cabinets. Can be set up to suck it in or push it out.
Quoted from cottonm4:What is this bar you speak of? I don't know where to look or what to look for. But it sounds interesting.
Like so... This is in my brother's Future Spa. Also found in Space Invaders and probably Paragon. Just what the doctor ordered to stabilize your lower cab sides. Reasonably easy to fabricate.

Quoted from zacaj:Mine's already been wet, that's the problem
As it is with most. A decent carpenter can remake the bad parts but if you don't have the skills it will cost a few bucks. When I got mine it had been stored on the back in a wet space. I was afraid if I put the head on it the neck might just collapse inside itself. Sonic = best play fields, worst cabinets. Good luck!

Quoted from cottonm4:Any wooden pin cab propped on its back in a wet space is not going to survive its time in storage without needing some serious repair.
True. However, I am certain the Sonics were built with the cheapest particle board known to man. I had a 6M$M I played for years with a back that was peeling layer by layer. Full disclosure: I know at least Bally used it sometimes as well. The back of a Space Invaders I own was crappy particle board as well as the lightboard of my 8BD. I guess it's cheaper than good ply.
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:Wish there was a source for this!
Well, if I can get a little more room back in my garage I might be able to set mine up and make one... LOL just kidding! Maybe soon.
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:Anyone have a manual for Super Straight?
Yup! Need a copy?
If you need the manual for Super Straight I have added it to my website as a free download for the next day or two. This is not a way to get traffic and sell you stuff, just the easiest way to share the info. The scans are decent and the files are large so emailing it is impractical. PM me if you don't know my site.
