OK. I see. Nothing permanent until all the kinks are worked out. That's good thinking.
I applaud your efforts. Having to splice wires that were not cut in a staggered sequence is a pain and will look like a snake swallowed a rabbit.

Might as well get one of those massive couplers someone had on a game a while ago. Wish I could remember what it was called!

Cannon plug? th-2 (resized).jpg

#153 1 year ago

You couldn't use a plug - unlike a lot of games, the wire length in the original had almost no slack... there was no way to reattach them directly to each other, so I had to run a patch wire for every single wire. Trust me, If I could have stopped at 60 soldered joins instead of 120, I would have.

So I ordered schematic from Marco Friday but thought id throw this out there in case amyone could help. Game plays well and I tweaked / cleaned some mechs replaced bulbs. Replaced a socket . last night my 2 outlanes stopped registering the 10000 and gold advance. Checked wiring on both switches but w/o schematic I'm stymied .thx for any help. this is on my prospector.

Sonic owners! Are your plastics reverse printed (on bottom, like normal) or direct printed on the top? My first super straight had them on the top and I assumed all sonics were like that, it shopping my 3rd and noticed the printing is on the bottom

Anyone happen to have a source or image file for the spinner decals on Super Straight? It's so weird that I want it restored to it's proper glory.

I just joined the Sonic club with a Mars Trek last month. I’m working on shopping it, and I’m in need of an NOS Sonic flipper. My two right flippers are the original white flippers with the ‘S’ on the top. I know it’s a long shot, but I’m also open to buying one off someone if they don’t mind swapping to the Williams flippers. Thanks!

Wish there was a source for this!

I think PBR is working on it, but good luck haha.

Well, if I can get a little more room back in my garage I might be able to set mine up and make one... LOL just kidding! Maybe soon.

Picked up my first Sonic a couple of months ago. Any idea how many Prospectors were made?

Now there is something you don't see everytime....
Paper work included with the game.
You should scan the lot and send a copy to the ipdb for safe keeping.
Hard to come by...

Is that schematic original? Weird how it's discolored. Every repro I've gotten for prospector has been the same though.

#169 11 months ago

Are those the same as what's used on older EM sonics? most of those parts seem to be for their 80s games

I assume, but not sure.

I have a Sonic Joker's Wild. The first 4 pics on the IPDB are of the machine that I own. It was the previous owner that posted those pics, I bought it from him over 15 years ago. Remarkable craftmanship that Sonic did on the playfields. 43 years later and it still looks brand new.

The Sonic backglasses and playfields are amazing. If only the same could be said of the crappy particle board cabinets lol

I want my game as badly as you want it gone!! Wish Bob could get it together...

So I’ve got a Super Straight question for you guys out there.
My game seems to be totally complete, but what I believe is the bonus counter is all jacked up. It’s missing a plunger and there’s weird green crap all over it. It seems to be causing my game to reset endlessly. When I adjust it by hand it stops.

Also had the weird issue that the chimes got locked on when trying to fix the resetting issue, and 2 of the chime plungers were hovering. Not fully extended and you could push them and they moved easily. Not bound up at all. What the hell would cause them to float in such a strange manner? Bad sleeves?

Might be the wrong coil too... I'd replace that and find a plunger. Take off the spider contacts and clean the contacts with metal polish. If that fails, scotch Brite

Just picked up a Super Straight!

#178 10 months ago

Anyone know where I can get the correct spinner for a Super Straight?

#179 10 months ago

If you need the manual for Super Straight I have added it to my website as a free download for the next day or two. This is not a way to get traffic and sell you stuff, just the easiest way to share the info. The scans are decent and the files are large so emailing it is impractical. PM me if you don't know my site.

Should submit your link to IPDB!

Does anyone have pics of what the wire on the gate mechanism looks like on Sonic Faces? Mine is missing.

+1

Mk1Mod0 the contact web site link on your Pinside profile shows a bad certificate - you need to add the 'www.' to it.
