You forgot this one which is my personal Sonic favorite. Prospector is a Great game with great art! The pic is when it was at my house while I was shopping it.
I no longer belong to the Sonic Club as I sold it to a friend shopped, working 100%, complete, and looking great but can play it anytime I am in Colorado. He has 9 games and this one is still the first one I go to in his collection.
Quoted from Mk1Mod0:Play fields from heaven, cabinets from hell.
Ain't that the truth...
I'm thinking about remaking one, or more, with the cnc we have...

Oops. You're right. Added.
I recall reading a while ago that a distributor in Baltimore went out of business and many of these were sold at auction. It would explain the high number of Cherry Bells and Mars Trek's found is the north east.
It looks like Segasa Monaco and Cannes was missed as well. Super fast and fun game that looks to be loosely based on Space Mission/Space Odyssey.

That's the spirit!
i have owned 2 Mars Treks
and also owned Prospector and Monaco and Butterfly
Mars Trek is the best IMHO
with Prospector not far behind.
Easy to work on if you are comfortable with WMS type EMs.
Yep. Awesome playfields and glass.
Cabinets were made of shit particle board though. I have Mars trek. Gameplay is really good and the art is great.
I bought my first pin, a non working Mars Trek, over a year ago. I have no experience with plans or electronics and life got in the way shortly after my purchase.
Just ordered TOP episode 1, some tools and have been reading the Pinrepair guides in hopes of getting to work and getting this bad boy functional soon and very soon. Then I'll officially be a member of this and the overall pinball community.
Another happy Mars Trek owner... which was raised from the dead after spending years in a Barn.
Good game, excellent feeling with the flippers. Love its backglass.
I just bought a Cherry Bell. Right now, I am having some teething problems with getting an EM pin to run properly.
Mine is great physical shape. And while I never thought I would be singing praises for anything made of particle board, I do have one complement for the stuff. I know, I know, you get it wet and it disintegrates. And it is heavy as hell. But it DOES NOT warp.
I have two other American made pins with plywood cabinets. On one cab, the sides are warped inward and the play field drags along the sides on the cab whenever I lift it up. Someway, somehow, I am going to have to figure out a way to brace the sides to remove this warp condition. On the other cab, the sides are warped/bowed outward which is not a playing problem but it looks a bit ugly.
So, I don't mind my Cherry Bell cabinet being made of particle board. Once I have the game placed in the game room it is not going to be moving anywhere; The weight is not a problem; It weight less than my wide body. And I don't intend to get it wet, so falling apart is not a problem. That cab is solid as a rock. I have no problem with the Sonic cabinet.
Quoted from bonzo71:Continuing my membership...just added Butterfly to go along with Mars Trek and Cherry Bell.
Nice! Really wanting a cherry Bell now!

I just do a bar similar to what is in the Bally wide body cabinets. Can be set up to suck it in or push it out.
Took Mars Trek to a show a few years ago and it went home with someone else. I kept some pictures like the one in the corner.

What is this bar you speak of? I don't know where to look or what to look for. But it sounds interesting.
I have Faces, Cherry Bell, Super Straight, Mars Trek, Gamatron, and Pole Position.
I am sure I will find a prospector soon. They come up so often, I just am in no rush if the price is wrong. Also have had the opportunity to buy butterfly a few times. Unfortunately the cabinet is always roached on them.
Just out of curiosity, why is this limited to sonic only? Segasa is the same exact company.
I am just tossing this out there. I would absolutely love to get my hands on a Casino Royale, Jai Alai, or Joker's Wild, Odin Deluxe, Hang On, or a Birdman. If anyone has any of these and was interested in selling, please let me know.
This past weekend I got a sonic super straight. Playfield and backglass are perfect. Cabinet looks bad at the bottom. It needs rubbers but comes on, lights up, and ejects the ball. Sounds like some ball ejector is stuck somewhere though. Hope its not too much trouble to work on?
Whats the value on these pins now? I found it by accident in a coworkers parents house and it came home with me. I have never seen one before.
Mars Trek was my first pinball machine - a whopping two years ago. It plays fast, looks good, and the spinners rip. I'll be hanging onto it for awhile.

Like so... This is in my brother's Future Spa. Also found in Space Invaders and probably Paragon. Just what the doctor ordered to stabilize your lower cab sides. Reasonably easy to fabricate.

Thank you. I will give this some study.
I've owned cherry bell, super straight , mars trek and prospector. Still own my fave sonic, prospector. Cherry bell has one of my favorite backglasses though. Love sonics games.
A couple of years ago we were having our normal Thursday night pinball at my house, and one of the players got a call out of the blue from a female friend. She had seen pics on Facebook of him hanging out and playing pinball with us (somewhat rare in these parts), and she tells him that she is getting a divorce and has a Butterfly pinball machine and if I could get it out of her garage by Sunday I could have it for free. I'd never heard of the machine but I said "Heck yeah, tell her I'll come get it." It didn't work when I got it and was really dirty, but I took my time and learned how to restore pins on this machine. With only 5 of these registered to users on Pinside, I assume it's a pretty rare table. And this one is a beauty.

If that was Hubbies thats a guaranteed split.
I am the current owner of a Faces and Prospector. I think Faces has the best artwork ever on a pin !!
I let go a Cannes a few years ago and regret that decision.
They made some great games and am fortunate to have played a few of them .
Quoted from dyopp21:We looked the Butterfly up in the Mr. Pinball price guide last night. 350 made.
It IS a rare bird!
Did it have a source or numbers for the other sonic games? IPDB doesn't list any Sonic manufacturing numbers...
I currently have a Cherry Bell that I may sell and I'm working on a Monaco I just picked up the other week. Bought it and it wouldn't even start a game now I have it playing perfectly just needs a few bulbs fixed. Really starting to dig working on the EM's. I just dug into a Hokus Pokus that had about 12 melted wires in it completely redid the wire loom with new/used wires and have that working about 85% after a few hours of work. Like everyone else I love the playfields and back glasses on these games but if you look at the cab wrong they start to fall apart out of spite.
Joe
Picked this one up from a fellow in southern NY... His entire two stall garage was just EMs stood on end from front to back. Had to keep the heads in a separate building. Note that every rubber is actually rubber bands

Sadly it goes in the closet until I finish up my other projects....
Anyone have any good solutions for fixing the bottom edges? This one's really bad...

I would buy 2 of the cabinets if you made them and put them together.
Prospector and Butterfly.

Sounds like you might like Prospector.
Just getting the concept dialed in. Would you want to buy parts flat pack or fully assembled?
Quoted from wolftownjeff:I would buy 2 of the cabinets if you made them and put them together.
Prospector and Butterfly.
Quoted from Badamack:Who knows what flipper rebuild kit works with sonic mars trek?
I don't know for sure, but since they use Williams parts, and williams used the same flipper mech for the entirety of the time Sonic made EMs, it's probably http://pbresource.com/KT-WFLIP04.html. It matches what I used on my Super Straight
