I'm having an issue with the general illumination on the playfiled of my Cherry Bell. After the ball drains and the bonus count scores and around the time the ball count advances, the playfield general illumination lights go out. Note the issue does not impact the feature lamps on the playfield or the pop bumpers. Here is a video of the issue which happens at 00:23, 00:46 and 1.05.

The seems to be related to the top switch on the 2nd score motor cam from the motor. I'm actually able to get the GI to go off by lifting the top switch on that cam. I do not believe this is supposed to happen though.

The GI and feature lamps on the playfield appear to use the same ground braid, so I do not believe it is an issue on the ground side. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I do not have a schematic, but there is one here: https://www.ipdb.org/files/3070/Cherry_Bell_Schematics.pdf

Due to the fragile nature of the jones plugs on this game, a fix using a jumper might be a good idea. I'm just not sure where exactly to put one.

Bladwit,

Jumping the GI to the transformer yellow resolved the blinking issue. The schematic refers to the cam as "1", but it is the cam 2nd from the motor and after the index cam the switch that results in the GI going out is at at level "E". The wires appear to be black at the top and Red with a yellow stripe below.

Before I purchased it, the game was stored in a very wet basement with water that was occasionally a few inches deep. Thankfully the prior owner kept it on its legs. The result is corrosion at the jones plugs. I love it though..it is a super fast player and people are drawn to the art work (or offended).

I'll mark this as closed since I have a repair option and an eventual path to hopefully find the break in the yellow wires.

Thank you again for your help!

Quoted from Hyperball91:

Give me a week Brad as I haven't quite finished my re-draw. It looks great. Cheers, Mal

I'll post some photos tomorrow.
