I've only played this about 20 times and gotten the ball hung up here above the guitar 3 times. Am I missing something here?

Yes, there should be a clear, angled plastic that sits there to prevent ball traps. It should mount to that post/nut by the star.

Any chance you can send a pic Matt? Thanks!

Well, actually that's one of the games that I have stored away right now. Too much stuff here at the moment!

I'll see if I can find an old pic on my computer or online.....

Kindof see it here: http://img-f.pinside.com/201308/1027352/120895.jpg

Are you also missing the spot light?

Those spot lights are someone's mod. No Alvin G game used spot lights....

Oh, and the cheezy guitars are mods too.

Okay, I've had a pic trying to upload for about 20 minutes here, but it looks like it's not gonna happen. The one Robert posted is better anyway...

Do you see the other anti-ball trap plastic on the left hand side? The one in question is pretty similar, so if you have this one still you should be able to make the other one. They mount about the same way.

Damn matt! Those are my chessy guitars! And yes those are my stern spot lights as well. Wow! No love for the guy that did the only three part interview on Alvin G. With Mike! Sigh....~SpOoKy ( still trying to get IPBDB to make the real MC total production a reality).

LOL! Sorry, Bret. You're a friend and the interview is awesome, but I'm just not a mod kind of guy. It kind of reminds me of my first World Tour where someone had GLUED large guitar refrigerator magnets to the front of the cabinet. I ripped those puppies off within minutes.

Anyway, as always, your efforts are much appreciated. I was wondering what Jay at the IPDB had to say....

Keep wondering then... sigh

Back in the day I reached out to Mike Gottlieb and did a huge three part interview about both himself, Alvin G. pins, His father Alvin and Gottlieb pinball as well. It took about 15 phone calls to make it all happen and history was made.I presented part one of three on the now defunct pinball country. It lasted for one month before the site was taken down forever . Parts two and three still exist on the struggle of Alvin G. and why they closed up shop, sitting here in like 120 plus handwritten notes during my time in getting to know Mike. Someday... I hope to transcribe those notes in parts 2 and 3 for closure. A very sad read indeed..... but history never less. ~SpOoKy

Again if I could ask for a little help from you AGB or other Alvin G owners, on mine, someone has done some business in the coin door, first off put together wrong so the flaps don't open, and when I got it on both coin mech switches had the green wire (with lug) disconnected, the center lugs have white/grey soldered to the middle lug. Not thinking much of it I plugged the green wires to the top lug and didn't get any action when I flipped the switch, open or closed. So I stuck them on the bottom and apparently it's in a closed state there, which seems backwards, cause upon hooking it up, either one, i got a credit but here's the weird thing, upon starting a game, it ALWAYS starts a 2 player game, with the green wires hooked up to the bottom switches. So I think it's obvious that it should be in a normally open state, on my game that means the top & bottom lugs. Just interested if there's something else weird in my game.

Sounds like you're missing the diode on the bottom...Here's a picture of my PP...Checked and my MC is the same.

Well I sure am. And I almost didn't post this question cause I thought it sounded too silly!

#22 10 years ago

It's hidden, is that diode going from the bottom to the middle lug? Or top?

#23 10 years ago

Bottom to middle...You can see it a bit better on the far coin mech
