OK this is my the first post on any work that I have done to my machine. So excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes as I tend to make them all to often.
So a while ago I had an idea to add something different to my Jurassic Park. I haven’t seen any one else do this so here is what I trying to do.
Currently on the playfield there is a flasher that has a clear cover just below the playfield flipper. I’m assuming that the cover is there to stop any ball getting trapper.
The area has always look wrong to me. So I started to think what else I could put there. Then I saw a 1/32 scale jeep on eBay and I got an Idea. Why not convert one of the jeeps into one that was are the start of the movie from when they land on the island.
So I bought one like this. Cost less than $20AUD. There were others available but this looked like it had the most potential as it already had working lights so they could be in cooperated into the project.
So the idea is to remove the clear cover and in the case the flasher. Then replace it with the jeep. The flasher then will come from the front headlights and the interior (just under the dash board).
First step was to make it look like one from the movie. After some research into how it should look plus how to build models (decals, painting, etc.). I’ve come up with this JP 18.

Some of my detailing isn’t perfect but I believe once it’s mounted to the playfield you won’t see any of that.
Next step is to come up with a mounting system. To do that I’ve got wire bender and plan to use stainless steel spokes from some old pushbike wheels. I’ll make up a wire base that will attach to the jeep and then to the some existing mounts in that area.
Then I need to install the LED’s into the car. I’m hoping to use a standard wedge socket in the car so that I can you standard wedge LED’s there. If I’m smart enough I should be able to make an adapter to hook strait into the flasher socket so that I don’t have to change anything as far as wiring.
