I was tipped off yesterday to a Gottlieb Count-Down and was lucky enough to make first contact with the seller and made the 60 mile trip to pick it up. After arriving I noticed the paint was a little different but didn’t think much of it. Once getting it home I noticed the S/N was very low 01007 and a post in another thread resulted in finding that the body color is so uncommon that nobody yet has seen the design. The playfield is pressboard with the fully painted shooter lane. I was hoping to find some additional information on these Sample machines, specifically if anybody knows more on this particular batch of sample machines and secondly wanting to find out if there is any additional attention that should be paid to the pressboard playfield. Restoration commencing soon!

Quoted from jibmums:

Very interesting and quite a find. You should get some photos of this machine over to IPDB.

I just submitted a few pictures this morning.

Was digging through some paperwork in the body of the machine and found the original sales receipt from June of 1984 (location San Jose Ca) when the machine was sold to a private owner for $346.13 from a vending company so it’s safe to assume it was on location from day 1. I also found all the paperwork and warranty card from original delivery, they look brand new however I think the warranty coverage is expired!

Found these relics wedged at the very back of the body.
