If you go to Bay Area Amusments which is PPS. If you click on the info buttom on the SC coins. It appears that PPS is saying that the international tokens will work in the us machines. Although there may be a adjustment that needs to be made to the coin mech.
Here is the listing copied from BAA
NOTE: if you pre-reserved your token sets thru the HELPDESK, DON'T ORDER using this part #, you have instructions e-mailed to you (or you can lookup your helpdesk ticket) to get instructions on how to order, as there are slight differences for those who pre-ordered.
New Safecracker International Token Set 04-10468 remanufactured and licensed tokens - includes 301 tokens made to original specifications, 20 different tokens (including 1 silvertone token) x 15 each are 1.190 inch in diameter (per the original international set). The International tokens will work in US Domestic machines, but an adjustment may need to be made to the token mechanism which is documented on the web. The machine backbox is the same, so the token dispensor will work in either one. NOTE: the 301 piece set includes the ONE Prototype Antiqued token as well.
The token set weights in at between 8 and 9 pounds, and the tokens are bagged separately.
The International Token Mechanism uses a "coin comparator" and the tokens have been tested in a number of games and have worked and in rare cases where they may not, the comparator likely has gotten de-configured, trained incorrectly, etc. In the cases where there are issues, the coin comparator (a small computer) needs to be 're-trained' for the new tokens, but we do not expect that to happen except in rare cases. In the case that this needs to be done, local operators have the programmer for the devices and/or you can send the token samples with comparator to The Pinball Factory and other large pinball distrivutors to be programmed. This is something not likely needed, but if there are issues, this will be the resolution.
