I have a Bally Black Pyramid Pin that I would like to give away(second attempt now).

    The good
Pin works and all parts are there and is a good machine but needs minor attention little nicknack problems such as some switches need replacing and could use a new coin door. and new legs. This game just needs some love and attention

    The bad
I was planning putting some time in it and fixing her up but room is now a factor and my back is pretty messed up and I really don't have the energy to put some work in it.I will be gonna for about two weeks.

So consider this a minor Pin project and it would be good for someone to have.Send me a PM if you want it but remember it wont be avaiable until two weeks from now.

Wow Pinmike - that's the 2nd free pin that I've noticed u giving away (not to mention the donations to Robin) --- You're a very generous man!!! Hopefully a pinhead will get it to keep and not flip

    Very generous.

I'm gonna 'thumbs up' pinmike on this one even though he really doesn't need any more karma points

And, because I'm not closer, I'll also quote Stern's 24: DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT

    #8 11 years ago

    Whada good pinhead!

    #9 11 years ago

If Nevus doesn't pick it up, then I am interested.
In part just to keep it here in Louisiana.
Heavy pinball machines and bad backs don't go together very well.

what a guy! Seriously wish this was closer.

Very cool of you pinmike. Acampero posted yesterday that he and his kids are raising money to buy a Black Pyramid. But he's in CA. http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/funding-a-pinball-purchase

Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Just a sympathy shoutout for the back....I've had two back surgeries and have lived with pain for 20+ years. Been to numerous specialists and get the same 'sorry, nothing we can do to help'. Pinball is definitely the wrong hobby for us....I was going through a bad spell and gave up a very nice Bally Wizard EM that I wanted to restore for the same reason. Hang in there, try to rest, and if you can, at all cost avoid surgery...the 2nd one is what did me in.

For the newbies on pinside, this isn't the first game Mike has given away. It is nice to see this in a hobby that is so dog eat dog right now.

Thanks guys!! I had two heart surgeries in less than 8 months and I have two metal stents in the arteries. So I really can't do any heavy lifting or bending over for too long(short of breath).I have to take it easy and working on pins does take it toll on ya and the meds i'm on keep me pretty tired too.My back is not as strong as it used to be...I'm getting old...LOL!!!

    PinMike...

Best to you. Hope you start feeling better shortly. Wish I would have seen this post earlier. I seem to always be late!

Great job Mike! Hope you get to feeling better...have you ever tried one of those inverted tables for stretching and relaxing the back...I have a friend who swears by it...for me, its the knees..take care

This is the beginning of the pinball bubble bursting! Pinmike is willing to walk away from this pin, just like people are walking away from houses that they are upside down on.

Good on ya Mike! Hey, did this come from the warehouse in the Bottom Boyz turf?

My sister is a Dr. of Physical Therapy and this is her biggest piece of advice. the spine is meant to move, and fusing it and other things cause pain down the road. She says back surgery is a huge cash cow.

I avoided fusion....I wouldn't go there just for the reasons you cited. I had a laminectomy by an ortho in '88 and then a microdisectomy by a Neuro in 96. The Neuro completely fubar'd the surgery and I've had residual and reoccurring pain since. The Neuro has since lost his license I heard for many complaints...my fault for not doing due diligence when my GP recommended him.

Anyway, I've learned to live with the pain and lack of mobility. I can't really bend over anymore, but as long as I'm careful with my activities and try to keep my weight down (harder the older I get), it's manageable without medication. The strongest thing I take is nsaids....I stay away from narcotics.

Wow, sorry to hear about the back issues guys. When I was in my 20's I would "throw my back out" and spend weekends on the couch and crawling to the bathroom. I think I hurt a disk when I was kid carrying some wood in the house when I slipped on some ice. I went to see an orthopedic who did a MRI and showed me my damaged disk. He also told me I've got degenerative disk disease, which I guess is not that uncommon. His advice was to do physical therapy and not have surgery. "Your lower lumbar will fuse together on it's own as part of the aging process due to your disks drying out."

I'm really happy I didn't have any surgery. My back will bother me after a round of golf, or shoveling snow, etc, but overall it doesn't bother me now. I'm not very limber, but pain free.

Best of luck Robert and Mike, back pain sucks!

I picked this up this week from PinMike. First, thank you for your generosity. I or someone in our local collecting group will bring it back to life. Now, I must coax him out of his pin layer to join the local club

    Cheers to PinMike

Bravo! I love it when a community comes together. Have fun Nevus.

BTW... Great game. My kids LOVE IT. Something about the simplicity of it, and man oh man the scoring is really fun. Especially the rollover lane and the drop targets.

    PinMike for the win!!!
