ebay.com link: Gottlieb High Hand pinball machine

Yeah, that High hand is at least in the ball park for pricing........

Quoted from hoov:

For sake of simplicity, IMHO I would make 3 ratings - the backglass (front and back pics needed), the playfield including all parts, plastics, and paint (under and over pics needed), and the cabinet and internals including all metal and associated parts and paint (several pics needed here). whew

I agree

Quoted from wayner:

a good back up machine for you dasvis!!

Dang - That High hand is a LOT nicer than what I started with...I am in the home stretch with mine now, just have the playfield to restore. Cab & mechanicals are done.

I will admit it! All this current talk about Bally Old Chicago in the multiplayer forum has me curious. I haven't played on since 1998 and I don't remember if I liked it or not because I only put a few games on it.

Cool. I just picked up a decent project old Chicago for $130, less back glass..... rumor has CPR coming out with a glass for this shortly, as Stu needs one for his game....

By chance today,
I finally got my Crosstown out of storage,
now just need the strength and courage
to lug it upstairs.

Tom - You need any help just drop me a PM, We have not yet met, but I'm only about 5-min away.

Quoted from jrpinball:

"Capt. Card"/"High Hand" are two of the most punishing games Gottlieb ever made. They will make you tear out your hair. Not that they aren't good games, but I don't think there's another game that frustrates me more. I love "Cross Town"/"Subway"/"Flipper Fair", especially the two add-a-balls. Yes, the flipper gap is huge, but they are great games nonetheless. Double up on the flipper rubbers (you should on all rounded top 2" flippers) and you'll gain a bit of reach on the flippers.

Just finished up my project High hand - not a showpiece by any means, but a good player.
You are correct, it's punishing. Games are all over the board as far as scoring. You get on a hot streak & you can break 150,000 + a bunch of specials. --- Next game you will be lucky to pull 18,000. Would love to get a Captain card to place next to this one.

I never realized so many people are terrified of clowns. It seems to be in vogue these days. I never thought clowns were scary.

Well Stephen King's "It" may have had something to do with it....

Quoted from o-din:

It's like an old Nash. Nobody wants to buy something you can't get parts for.

I sell antique auto parts on ebay. You can't give Nash parts away.

i find it had to believe that ebay doesn't get something.. they fee everything

You know the bastards are making a buck off of it somehow.

Hit the Deck, a tad rough though

Hit the deck has to have one of the more attractive cabinets that Gottlieb ever made.

Quoted from hoov:

You're probably not going to get that Eager Beaver o-din but if you are:
You might want to google rgp archives for that sellers business name
Be careful out there.........

Seems to me I saw an Eager Beaver repro backglass on one of the European Bingo sites...

#4873 8 years ago
Quoted from pinwiztom:

Thanks
Since it comes from the EU
i should probably go for the foil?,
to save on shipping and get here in one piece.
As you know i need one of these,
for my spare "not so eager beaver".

I think that's the only way he will ship to USA anyway, just the foil.

Who gave this guy his EM card?

Frickin EM rookie.

Quoted from NicoVolta:

I like 'em cleared... it really is better than new if done professionally.
But no cab repaint? Not a full-rebuild w/all-new lamp sockets? For $6000?
Nah.

+1 - New lamp sockets & fuse holders or no deal.

That's why I'm thinking no new pinball purchases for awhile.

I call BS, you know if a killer deal pops up you will drop everything & pick it up!

Quoted from EM-PINMAN:

Nice price, fun game, good looker. Hopefully whomever gets it does not part it out. Backglass could be replaced and the playfield looks to be in good shape, just dirty.
ebay.com link » Williams Pinball Machine Shangri La

Gee, sadly, that looks a lot better than most of my project pins.......

#5689 6 years ago
Quoted from gdonovan:

I'm a a pinball hold as it is.

A pinball hold? WTF.... seriously?

#5691 6 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

I gotta say, I'm on one as well. Something really good would have to fall into my lap at this point. It's been very tough to sell games lately. The market is saturated, at least here in the Northeast.

Wife just discovered the Bally Amigo project that I picked up a couple of months ago.... I too was supposed to be on a pinball hold but I'm a sucker for a cheap project. Love the Bally pins!
She was passed off for a couple of hours, but she got over it..

Quoted from pinwiztom:

pissed off or passed out??

Err...

#5723 6 years ago
Quoted from Electrocute:

Maybe it's a diamond in the rot. No need for shipping blankets on this one. I'll bring them anyways to keep my trailer clean.

Pics please when you can - I have a soft spot for that title. Klondike was the first pin that I can remember actually being able to win games on when it was on location.........

North Star project on ebay in PA (where else? ) - no reserve

I swear, those PA guys have 90% of all pins ever made.

Quoted from o-din:

I was really bummed when solid state first showed up with beeping noises and a hollow feeling. Like life as we'd known it had ended.
But damn, we must have got mostly the crappy ones around here, because I never remember one like that Bally Skateball or Frontier that I have now.

Exactly. We shunned them at the start. Space Mission & Klondike were our games of choice when the SS pins came out.
The first SS that really did it for me was Eight ball deluxe. Still does!
