KLONDIKE!
600.00 BIN or Offer!
Nice shape too.
Not mine, But I bet if someone made an offer for $500.00 it would be theirs.

This is a rather good EM title, in my opinion. More challenging than you might think: the fairly unique "slot machine" reels at top are blocked from most direct shots by the pop bumpers; the Up | Down center post is generally more of a hindrance than a help; the scoop fires back SDTM more often than not. (In fact, there is a Williams-authored diagram for adjusting it to not do that as much, but I always thought that that would sort of be "cheating" on the original design intent.) I was looking for one of these for many years, but finally snagged the 4-player version, Jackpot. The artwork on Klondike is more appealing, but I would usually prefer to have a multi-player version, where one exists.

I still should have bought yours Dave, way back when. Still kicking myself. I wonder if David ended up selling it.

Sadly, I think most of the games from the National Pinball Museum sold at auction this spring.

Not a bad idea. After all, this is the senior, er, EM hangout. I'm baffled by relays and score motors, let alone this iPad that wants to copy and define anything my finger rests on for more than a second. That is, unless it's something I want to copy. So, when at the eBay site, do you select all of the address bar, then copy?

Now, about that Big Indian...

#2305 9 years ago

Here is a very nice example of a CC Gun Smoke!

I have not seen one of these on eBay for a while.

$1200.00 start bid w/no reserve.

One of the best 60's CC games! Fun and a looker!

i don't quite qualify for the senior discount, but that day is approaching fast...

yup, select everything in the address bar, copy it, and paste it into your post... the forum software will take care of it from there...

I saw this last night. I was a bit excited when I saw the $1200.00 price, then I realized it wasn't a BIN price but a starting bid.

The time the lady at the Dairy Queen said to me "Hon, I gave you the senior discount" I was mighty perturbed. I don't think I qualify, but she did.

A couple hours drive from here, but a little expensive. Maybe

That Gun Smoke would sure look nice next to my CC Casino.

But don't worry RobT, I'm not buying any more Multiplayers so it is all yours.

So I tried this:

I selected and copied to a sticky

and pasted using: images9R6ONVL5.jpgimages9R6ONVL5.jpg

Didn't work.

Dirt cheap WMS shuffle alley in PA (currently at $10.50). Needs Pin Reset motor (the most expensive part on one).

I think they usually sell for around $50 on ebay. But some do list them at the $75 price point. I am kind of shocked there are none listed right now on ebay?

Odin I recognize this guys driveway from other pins this guy has sold. He is one of Herb Silvers restorers / cab painter/ touch up artists. I would definitely buy with confidence. How often would you come across this pin. I have never heard of it.

I sold one of these for a friend at the Allentown show a couple of years ago. It had a nice original backglass, and was in decent condition otherwise, but not as nice as this one. It has the funky double flipper sets like "Show Boat" had later on. Not a great player though with the eight trap holes. It's a very good looker though.

I have one, and it's a beautiful game to look at. The four flippers take some getting used to, especially they way they're wired so the left button operates the left pair of flippers and the right button operates the right pair. That said, mine gets played quite a bit, and I think it's one of the best of the trap hole games, because there's more to do than just the trap holes--the red and blue 1,2,3,4's both lite specials. If I have a complaint, it's that the artwork on the playfield is fantastic, but the game is so under illuminated, especially after you hit the dead bumpers and turn them off, that you can't really appreciate the artwork while you're playing it.

#2322 9 years ago

Yeah, that's one gripe I have about many of the older games. They definitely cheaped out on the lamp sockets.
"Pin Wheel" is notably under-lamped, that's for sure.

Easy fix!

Too bad I can find a pin that is $11 and only needs one part and $75 bucks worth of work. My girlfriend would let me buy pins for that price all day long!

thanks cj... that's not bad...

i know that what i really want is a ball bowler, but a shuffle puck jobber would do me to start...

of course, i'd have to knock down a wall and eliminate my kitchen to fit it in here...

I counter that blue note with a rock star

That guy with the Rock Star is local to me. I think he's been trying to make a fortune on that game for that past couple years!

#2335 9 years ago

I played both and found them both not so fun!
some people collect rare machines but for that much money the should be a little fun...

The holes in the coin door would bother me for sure. Touch up's would need re-doing. I did used to want one but so much money and decided out of the late 70's games, Hit the Deck is the most fun.

#2337 9 years ago

Rock Star / Blue Note looks like it plays like a turd.

Both games are somewhat scarce, but I don't really like them. Would be a quick flip for me if I found either one.
"Neptune" and "Hit the Deck" are much better.

Neptune is an amazing game. I simply love the thrill of getting the machine gun knocks!

Do you have it set up on "novelty" mode?

#2341 9 years ago

I played a Hit the Deck and really liked that game. Tough to find though. Never played a Neptune.

#2342 9 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

Yep. Novelty Mode takes Neptune from a fun game to a top 5 game IMHO. Neptune is currently my favorite.

Marcus

My Top 5 EMs (at the moment)

1. Neptune
2. Diamond Jack
3. Kings & Queens
4. Atlantis
5. Melody

#2343 9 years ago

How hard is it to get a new backglass for something like that Top Card?

#2350 9 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

i don't believe it has been repro'd (or if it has, it is nla), but you may be able to get the bgresto guys to do one...

backglasses might as well be made of gold when it comes to em pinball machines... imo, it is the most important cosmetic part of the machine, and it is virtually impossible to make a bad one look good... pf's can be touched up and cabinets can be painted, but a bad bg will always be a bad bg...
