There was a Hearts and Spades (AAB of Spin-a-Card) locally that just I missed this spring. Cabinet was pretty messed up, but had a nice glass. Suppose to be a really fun game. Best non-wedgehead-wedgehead!

1969 Gottlieb Spin a Card Project pinball machine

That would be a fun machine to restore and the start price is right IMO.

Thats what I look for first and go from there...

I don't care for the artwork on either Granada or Spanish Eye's but most people who have played them say they are fun. I just can't get past the colors and the artwork myself so I'm pretty sure I will never own one unless I get one for free.

My brother has the SE and at first I thought the artwork was a little too much but it gets easier on the eyes (no pun) it makes up for it in play though.
In fact its pop between the flips was cooked when he got it, which goes to show it gets a murdering, that and your forearms make you feel like Popeye when your done playing it.

Here's a couple for you 'cheeseheads'!
Guy must have mixed up his facts a little getting the brands and years wrong, but the prices right!
I have heard good things about both these games and they look decent, worth restoring!

Nice finds stashyboy! Both nice condition and nice price!

Ken

#60 10 years ago

Hey, I'm a cheesehead who loves Ems that are priced right!

I already have Kickoff and really enjoy it. I'd love to have a Sing Along. I missed out on a $300 Melody earlier this year and a $250 Sing Along a couple weeks ago. Just waited too long thinking about which game I'd have to sacrifice to make room. It amazes me I keep seeing them this cheap. The temptation is almost maddening. I have to say I actually felt a bit relieved when the other ones sold. They say 3 is a charm, maybe it's predestined. Hayward is 4.5 hours away for me but I'd go if I can convince the wife.

Am I a hoarder if I start storing machines under other machines?

No, but what a pain to move things around for service! I vote you send your extra games to me. I will store and maintain them for free!

If you lived closer I'd be cool with that plan.

This game has some pretty bad fade, but still a good deal considering the source! This game title seems to be incredibly popular on the EM forum of late-

Nice Pin-it,

Well the price is nothing great but if your looking for that pin in particular then I think it is a fair price for the condition in which the Playfield is in real good shape.

They never are.

Anything late fifties early sixties is hit or miss when it comes to having a pinball in good condition, the only thing i would want in poor condition is the back box and cabinet.
Unless its a project and priced accordingly. Some pinball machines (turds) that people want to sell on e-bay or Cl w/high price tags are what I hate.

#73 10 years ago

Don't know about what the value is on this game in general but I've played that machine and it is in really good shape.

Couple decent buys here:

Hey Stashyboy,

Good prices for the condition which looks pretty good overall.

If they were local to me I would look into picking up the "Seven Up". "Magic City" Maybe.

Ken

#76 10 years ago

the "magic city" is no longer available...

#77 10 years ago

Find a Backglass for this baby and you are definitely in business!

Wow, great condition Playfield indeed!

Ken

#78 10 years ago

This one is funny/strange.

Low price but the Playfield is rough. They state it is a 6 out of 10? More like a 5 or less to me.

The Head and Cabinet have been repainted with the wrong stenciling. Close but why not do it original seeing the pattern is very easy to copy and takes the same amount of work?

Love the bolted on wheel concept while playing.......not!

Nothing like playing a game of pinball while chasing your machine down your driveway! Guess you just have to make sure you have a long enough extension cord.

Yeah, some people take the term "Plug & Play" very seriously and don't do anything else to their machines while they own them.

Hard to believe someone could actually get a good deal on a game via Ebay, but there it is!

I have been talking with the seller and High-Bidder since the night it was listed (Never seen your post). Will be my first EM, it needs work but I think it will be fun.

Quoted from Pin-it:

No, its pickup-only

Oh and...asking a favor....Out of pinside-kindness. Please don't bid on it and make the price higher

Who is selling it Ray Charles?
I just read down from known issues and on as that describes it best.

I know^ ,was trying to be sarcastic.

#87 10 years ago

well, I won the Abra Ca Dabra. It went from $300 to $488 in 45 seconds some guy made like 8 bids. I think thats a good deal for a working-nice condition Abra Ca Dabra. Turns out the playfield is not faded and it was just his cellphone camera. My first EM!! Woot. "I am in for lots of learning, I know that for a fact"

Great buy for that Pin!

Seems that Summer time is the best time for Pin deals with Winter commanding the high prices.

Thanks And he's delivering it tomorrow afternoon for $25. Not bad...

congrats! Get ready for a whole new level of pinball addiction!!

#91 10 years ago

haha, and to learn and troubleshoot a completely new kind of beast.

#92 10 years ago

congrats, yes you will enjoy it! be sure to post pictures too

Maybe you'll get lucky and the schematics and manual will come with the game. Learning schematics makes EM repair so much easier.

I forget, I cant always assume people hold onto them. I always assume if they don't have it I can buy one on Ebay. If it is missing, I doubt I will be able to find one. I shall find out tomorrow afternoon. lol

#96 10 years ago

Schematics are nice to have, but I'm finding the cabinet labels are much more helpful. Knowing what does what, and simulating gameplay with the playfield up and watching what relay does what when devices are activated are a great learning tool, and can help you find switches that need cleaning or adjustment.
