It also says that you can make an offer. See if the seller will come down from $5,500 to tree fiddy.

If you mean $ 350, I would agree. Faded backglass, cabinet beat with a log chain and probably rust out the wazzoo.
There was a cherry restored one that went for around 5k a year or too ago. I wouldn’t kick one out of bed but the gameplay didn’t do much for me. It is a looker when in nice shape.

it is a game i want more for the art package then game play. the game play is average at best. i will not overpay for a art package game.. that should be a 800 game but we all know that will not happen.

No good pictures of the playfield is telling and what you can see doesn't look good.

I asked him sarcastically (sort of) if he meant to put the starting price at $55.00 instead of $5500 and he emphatically said $5500.
I said Good Lord.

Totally agree. I've always been attracted to that game because of the art/theme, but after playing one for the first time several months ago, I was thoroughly underwhelmed by the game play.

Yeah, but at least we know it has an original S/I card!

If that rest of the playfield looks like the small corner shown I'd not bite at $250. Pile of junk.

C’mon. The cabinet is worth at least $ 50
See ya next Friday.
I saved pictures from the restored Star Jet. THIS is a 5K example. Pure pinball porn.

Quoted from Playdium:That is a real cool back glass design. Never seen one before.
The artist's name is George Molentin, Williams' in house designer for decades up until around 1970.
I've got quite a few of his pieces beautying up my place.
I’ve played Star Jet at VFW and thought it was okay, not great. If this guy emphatically wants $5,500 for that title in that condition, imagine what he’d want for a more sought after title in decent shape! Then again, he very well might not know the difference.

Even though that pin is absolutely gorgeous, do you think it would really fetch $5K?
Quoted from wolverinetuner:Even though that pin is absolutely gorgeous, do you think it would really fetch $5K?
EDIT: Sorry, just read the post indicating it actually sold for $5,000. Great restore, but too rich for my blood.

I'm not coming up with many more sought after EM titles at the moment, especially after how many I've been thru.
I suppose with the lukewarm reviews on the Star-Jet gameplay, I should just be happy with the Beat The Clock I picked up recently. Another EM multiball game with beautiful George Molentin artwork. And to tell you the truth, I am.

Getting excited about York, hope to see some sweet EM love. Coming home with a pin will be way cool too

You can buy my Williams Pit Stop I'm bringing to York.
Ask o-din and he'll confirm it's one of the best multiplayer EM's.

Play it almost every day.
I can be in my house and I'll hear the garage door open and my buddy will be out there playing it.
Not just for two players anymore.

Olympic Hockey is a tough act to beat.
Quoted from o-din:New York is a long way from here, but York sounds even farther.
York is a bit closer for you than New York, but not by much. Still would love to see you make it if at all possible. Pinhead52 from Texas will be there.
Quoted from Ballypin:The restored Star Jet sold 2-1/2 years ago for 4,500.

This one may be the one I played. It was totally restored and had a Shay repro glass in it. Gorgeous game, but IMHO, not worth that kind of dough even in that condition, due to it's lackluster play appeal. There are many other games I'd rather plunk down that kind of scratch for.
Quoted from o-din:The artist's name is George Molentin, Williams' in house designer for decades up until around 1970.
IMHO
Star Jet art is not by Molentin, even though ipdb.org says so.
The female faces and eyes all have that blank stare that be long to the artist that did
art on WMS Big Daddy and WMS '63 Big Deal and BLY Campus Queen and BLY Gold Rush to name a few.
Also all the guys have those high check bones and bottom pouty lip,
sort of a Milton Caniff swipe.

I'll admit it's pretty hard to tell sometimes due to certain similarities of style. No one knows yet who the mystery artist or artists are yet do they?
For now though IPDB is the best source of info we have on the subject. Which I agree isn't much to go on.
A decent condition Gottlieb woodrail. No bids and a little over 22 hours to go at the time of this posting.

Too bad, I'm pretty close by, and really want a decent wood rail for my collection, but just not the right timing now. Curious what the book value might be on something like this? obviously, depends on condition, but for one that is clearly not coming from a pinhead, it's dirty and needs a bit of work, glass looks pretty bad, and they just stick a price on it like $850.-

That seems a pretty tough call. It seems to me to be in decent condition and would clean up quite well with a minimum of fuss. If the machine was down here at that price (exch adjusted) it would be sold pronto.

Yeah, but so would many machines listed around my area (which is considered on the expensive side) funny enough. I feel for you folks in Aus with the prices I've heard . I guess we'll see if anyone bites in the last few hours. Agree the PF might clean up, but the BG is basically a write-off if you look close.

That Spot-a-Card example is in overall good shape. I value it in the $750+ range. With the cost of a repro backglass, it would still be a decent value.
It has the much preferred traditional playfield, as opposed to the painted particle board style.
I previously owned this title for many years. I sold it to a local friend so that I could continue to enjoy it. While the Parker backglass art is anemic, the gameplay is excellent on this title.
Have a price in mind and made an offer for this guy. It’s obviously not meeting his ‘buy it now’ or even his reserve but I think $550 is fair. It’s a game I’d love to have and would round out my collection nicely. I see the planking and playfield wear but that’s one of the few things I’m good at repairing.
I get the feeling he’s honest but doesn’t know anything about pins. Might be a shot in the dark but he sent me more pics of the playfield and the flippper area is as bad as it gets. Easy 1 hour 50 minute drive.
Any thoughts on this?

Cabinet is pretty good. Back Glass average. Playfield not the best. I'd say would go for $700 in my area.

Sounds like I’m in the ballpark then. Thanks.
That thing would be lucky to get $400 around here. Hard sell in these parts. Especially with that playfield.

Prefer “Quick Draw”. Fewer score reels. Looks better. Too bad they didn’t make a Wedgehead version. Great game!

Terrible, but if the price is right. I sure wouldn't pay extra for that.
