A quote from My Cousin Vinny comes to mind.

I think I'm going to offer $100 for the Darling just to see what happens. Of course, with my luck, I'll drive 90 minutes only to get mugged!

For this trip, with this seller, plenty of "treaded in" tires is mandated.

I offered him 100.00 last week. He wouldn't take it. But that was last week.

Ask him if it's still blowing fuses.

here's a very rare 1972 SS Cleopatra

I'm really enjoying my Little Chief. It's a game that grows on you.

ROFL... "The unit is all original (no Chinese reproduction)"

Whew... what a relief. I wasn't certain with so many fake EM's out there...

Quoted from AlexF:

It sure does! Such a simple looking layout... almost like Big Ben which might have you believe it's also a dog. But the rules, layout, and multiplayer aspect have something special about them. Maybe it's the bonus gate? I dunno. Doesn't look like a winner but it's solid.

Oh, man! Now I gotta go and check all mine to make sure they don't have a "Made in China" sticker on them somewhere!

Yup - nothing says reliability like antique bleeding edge technology.

Just an update :

I sent a text today asking for pics, I got back the single backglass pic from the ad. I asked for some cab picks, that's when I got a phone call......

How much was I looking to spend?
Bad news, not working.
Also, some guy supposed to buy tomorrow.

Send me pics anyway, you know, just in case...

Ok, yeah, I'll try, basement being worked on, etc, etc.

Deal with confidence here!

#16915 6 years ago

I'm confused, didn't the ad say working?

#16916 6 years ago

wait...new ad.

Now that he knows the word is out, he's changed the ad to non working. Still no pics of the actual game. Still some fine grammar and spelling.

BTW, he has part to put in, but I'm pretty sure that he doesn't have a clue. He asked me what fuse to replace the blown one with. As of last week he didn't know how to fix it, maybe he's found the problem. I guess you can ask what part it is that he has to put in it, but hasn't put in it.

OH! And if you know what the problem is, you can make a better deal. Personally, I think you can make a better deal if you don't know what the problem is. I'm also wondering how he doesn't know what the problem is, yet he has the part to put in.

Another fine product of our education system.

Told me that fuse didn't work.
I actually did get 1 new pic of Darling, ,,,,
On a tv screen.

Now he's trying to sell me a Diamond Jack!

I got pics of that machine, also on a tv screen.

This is fun!

#16918 6 years ago

I hate when the fuse stops working.

A pic on a TV screen? Huh? Splain!

sounds like he is taking a picture of a picture.

#16920 6 years ago

Maybe he's from another dimension?

#16921 6 years ago

I like your style.

Ok, I'm abandoning further discussion of this ad so nice EMs can come back to the forefront.

#16928 6 years ago

Yeah,

I posted it in CL laughs.

At least he has actual pics now.

#16929 6 years ago

Well...if it's for real, it's a deal! But I have a bad feeling it's a scam.

(Legs are off but are included. Just makes it easier to load into a vehicle without them on)

While true, I'm thinking it's not easier getting it off the floor

I'd be sure to take the head off, too, before transporting. Nice game -- I regret selling my Target Alpha.

Come on, it's CL. The $10 is for negotiating. His real price is $200.

I think it's a real game, but we will see about the process....

The guy lives about 15 minutes from me and I'm going to see it tomorrow. A little nervous because he said "there has been a lot of response for it, it might come down to a bidding war". I'll give him an offer based on condition but definitely not getting into a 'bidding war!'.

He also has a Midway Rifle Champ game for sale on Craigslist.

$175 for a "working" rifle game? If only I was closer...

EM? Not! Tsk, tsk. You've been warned about this before!

#16943 6 years ago

What if you put a set of chimes in it? You could say it's almost an EM....

#16944 6 years ago

EEEEEK.

Fine! Here's an EM.

No such thing, Vic. It's like a woman saying she's almost pregnant. It either has an MPU, or it does not.

Plays like an EM. Close enough for me.

#16948 6 years ago

EM's have MPUs. Its just the giant board on the bottom that uses relays and solenoids instead or transistors. A switch is a switch! LOL

"Cash on the glass". I like that attitude. No nonsense there.

Is it too late for birth control?

But as Vic has said some of those Gottlieb System 1 games have the EM feeling to them.
