Yeah. Crazy, I know. However the bottom board wasn't clipped/pieced apart yet, just the head. If the bottom board was clipped apart I probably would have let it go.

I realized even reusing the old harness from the head (even though it was cut kind of short in some spots) would be much easier than remaking it, just going to extend the wires where need be. I just sit there with a schematic and have at it. Still have a while to go though, been spending a lot of time away from it, need to find some more time to sit down and get a lot done.

Still searching for an original February '63 to February '66 cabinet to use for it, and if it's from a single player I'd just build the head. The cabinet is very particular though and having the lockdown piece that is attached to the cabinet would definitely help so I'm waiting on that route first.

Some call it the "EM grail" though, and I also took an interest in it before this whole opportunity came up, so I jumped on it as these never seem to come up, and if one did it would probably be way out of my price range.

A Sonic Mars Trek came up today in Lynchburg VA for the grand total of $0. That right, free. And seems it was in decent condition. If I brought home one more pet my wife was going to kill me so I let it pass. I'd post a link but some lucky person got it and it was already deleted so no link.

What would you pay for it, and what would you pay for a working Star-Jet? Genuinely curious. I don't think I got an awful deal. I certainly did not pay buy-it-now price on all those items if that's what you're thinking. This seems like the second or third time you've said this to somebody on here, all that soldering doesn't bug me. Just takes time, it's like a puzzle with flipping through the schematic. Fun story to tell too. Something I can be even more proud of at the end.

The amount I paid for it will not go to waste, it will bring me great enjoyment both in building and playing, and also others because I'm pretty committed to bringing it to shows since it seems even a lot of collectors have never played one. Worth it to me. I think I paid a lot less then you think I did...

That is the most hilarious backglass on the Big Ben I've seen in a while. Perhaps American folk art. Makes it more valuable ????

500 dollar 100% working Bow and Arrow!?!?! That is a steal.

It looks very nice. I want it... but they made a lot of them. I can wait for one to pop up within my driving radius. Examining it in person is also a huge plus.

To me, the Bally EM Trifecta is Freedom prototype, Old Chicago, and Bow and Arrow. All have that sexy top rail, huge glass, powerful mechs, nice artwork, and killer gameplay. All produced during that tiny span between 1975-1976 just after Wizard! blew past 10k production but just before Bally switched all production to SS. It's a real sweet spot. Some other nice ones in there too... Aladdin's Castle, Night Rider, Hang Glider...

Right on! That's the era that I originally got into pinball. Our local operator had mostly Bally pins.

Actually, i think the custom glass is an improvement over the original.

I stripped a whole cabinet with Goo-gone aresal.....and underneath all the latex, I found the original cabinet. But yes, they really hosed the cabinet. Talk'em down to $350.00 and have a fun repaint project. Big Indian is a fun game and worth the effort !

Yes, O-din... Mata Hari EM would fit in very nicely! But I l don't find the gameplay quite as riveting as the other three. Which is a good thing, considering the price and rarity!

Nevertheless I'm sure I'll end up with one eventually...

At least you didn't get what i got a few years back.

I have underground electric service which is fine but back when they laid the wires it had a bare copper neutral which is not a good idea from the point corrosive soil had eaten it away and lets just say it was looking for a return path with no such luck so it was going back and forth through the 2 hot lines. One side of the power feed was 80 volts the other was 160 volts.
Lost a few electronics and some other appliance parts which let the smoke out which really sucked....
Anyway power company ran a new feed about 2 weeks later (They contracted a crew out to horizontal drill the new feed service) which they ran an encased plastic conduit then the wires this time around a neutral not being bare.
Had to live an aerial neutral from the pole at the street to an evergreen tree at the corner of house up the sidewalk and into the meter box.
Something i do not want to go through ever again....
