Quoted from 1974DeltaQueen:

What you got a problem with paying 5$ for a scone ?

Glad I never went there. The wife has though. I'm really starting to loathe restaurant chains. I do my best to support the independent places. There are some pretty good chains though. Kind of like "Texas Roadhouse" for a reasonably decent beef fix.

Nope. Still there.

Quoted from pinwiztom:

I was always a Western Flyer kind of guy,
mainly because the manager of the local Western Auto store lived across the street.
Besides I was not cool enough to carry off riding a Schwinn Sting Ray, let alone a krate.

Avocados. Man can not live on steak alone.

No, steak and beer!

Some grilled bread and onion are always welcome at my place, too.

Quoted from Budman:

I can vividly remember the smell of all those new bikes in the Schwinn store.

Mine was a Schwinn Super sport in opaque green like this one.

Damn though, that green pea picker crate bike was cool.

You know what I want for my birthday?

coalkrate002_(resized).jpg

I know I'm late to the party, but I have a mint Apple Krate in the garage. Since I'm from coal cracker country my buddy had a coal Krate, but alas it was probably tossed years ago.

#14859 3 years ago

I too never knew of the Coal Krate. Never saw one. But that's why we have the interwebs now.

Don't even consider this machine if you are in excellent health.....

I would be sure to offer at least $501,
to avoid a pummeling.

So good to see CL ads on here everyonce in a while! All I've seen has been food and bikes lately!

We haven't got to the ice cream and the rollercasters lately.

#14867 3 years ago

Yes, before we all get a thread Reject, we should probably save the bike, dinner, dessert talk for Odin's old thread.

#14868 3 years ago

Not until after one more ride on Twisted Colossus.

Mars Trek near Vancouver: seattle.craigslist.org link

This states that only 300- 400 Mars Treks were made. Can anyone confirm that? I have a MT, but I'm tempted to throw a BS flag on the field.

#14872 3 years ago

From KC Craigslist. This is hilarious!

Champion is probably THE best Bally 1 ball out there. Problem is, they use the same amount of space whether they are set up or stored.

Well, it was still there when I posted!

Production numbers aren't very clear like they are on Gottlieb, etc.. Says they produced anywhere from 345 - 2,128.

#14877 3 years ago

That Champion looks like it is in pretty nice condition. Having just done a one ball game, I'm tempted to find another.

Well it was out on Long Island my money is on one of a couple of guys we both know out that way .

Yeah, did either of them get it? I don't think that game is up either one of their alleys.

Quoted from monsonb:

That might be true regarding how many were actually imported to the states, but pretty sure more never left Europe.
Mars Trek is not all that uncommon a pin in the wild,
I have owned two over the years that kinda fell into my lap.
Good game regardless, as are most Sonic pins.

The makings of a 1980's teen horror movie.....

The ad says, "You won't find another one"; You obviously won't even get to see this one:

syracuse.craigslist.org link

#14887 3 years ago

Looks like a haiku:

1950s pinball machine
Turned cool furniture
You won't find another one

Sadly... regarding ads with no photos... we will find another one.

#14888 3 years ago

Here's one you don't see everyday. Unless of course you have one.

Ooh, a Williams "King Pin" and a nice woodrail shuffle bowler. I saw one lIke it a while back in an antiques store.
Well, it looks a little different than the one in my photo. I'd love to have a woodrail shuffle bowler if I had the room.

Wow lotsa good stuff in there.
I found a shuffle bowler recently, but in a coffee shop

I mean at least it's not a pinball coffee table..... kinda...

Where is this coffee shop? I have that same Shuffle Alley, but need a better backglass. Maybe they'll trade BG's since they are only using it a counter...

#14894 3 years ago

Depending on how they attached the counter it looks like this one could be brought back to life.

#14895 3 years ago

I am going to ask my son, as it was during one of his out of town basketball games. Within 30/45 min of Madison I know.

*figured it out. Fat Cat Coffee Works, New Glarus WI.

Quoted from AlexF:

That was my first thought as well! Looks like it is almost all there.

#14897 3 years ago

Yeah, it still has those really hard to find little pins. Anyway, Shuffle Alleys like this generally aren't that hard to find if you want one. It's funny to see our reaction though when one gets repurposed. It's kind of clever and artsy but sad at the same time. Sort of like those pinball coffee tables.

That game held up pretty well from 1873. Heck, even 1973!
