flying carpet - $350 - revere (ma)
this one looks like it might be good...

Boilerman has been looking for a Flying Carpet..........

Multi pitch, 2 player and homerun ramps. If this game had a mechanical running man unit it would have it all.

yea, true dat... if it was just a tad closer, i could live without the running man, given the other features... the multi-pitch feature is a neat one...

looking closer, it is actually called "bullseye baseball"... since it came from canobie lake park, and they bought it in the early 80's, it's likely that i played this actual machine several times, as i spent quite a bit of time there in the late 70's/early 80's...

i guess it never occurred to chicago coin that they could have put some of this stuff in the cabinet rather than the head...

just dropped him a pm about it... it would be a haul to go get, but if it is as nice as it appears to be for 350, it might be worth the trip for him...

williams jackpot - $150 - spotsylania (va)

the duct tape (?) over the shooter rod hole doesn't build confidence, but for $150 if someone is close it might be worth a look...

Was able to pick up the Big Shot.

Overall in great shape. Cleanest machine inside I've ever picked up.

Drop targets need work big time. Gummed up, etc

I took the whole one bank apart and they drop ok now, but don't want to reset. It doesn't seem to energize long enough. Tries to pop up and then drops.

BG nice. Couple cracks in center.

PF overall very good.

Will post pics later in a new thread.

Will need everyone's help.

Bert

#1409 10 years ago

Congrats on the Big Shot. It may be a different set up but a had a similar drop target reset issue on a Gold Strike I owned. If I remember there were two coils used to reset the large bank. Each had it's own fuse and one was blown on mine causing the problem. Just spitballing as your configuration may be entirely different.

#1410 10 years ago

check the motor switch it might have a bad contact . turn the lights out and look at the motor switches as the bank tried to reset. you might see a blue spark. clean those contact and adjust them a bit and try again.
I find that if the bank just bumps and doesn't make a full stroke it is the motor switch.
worth a try

#1411 10 years ago

Thanks.

Will try both.

I was looking at the schematic and noticed that 2 different motor switches control the dual coils.

Will take a shot at these tomorrow and report back.

I just added a new thread with pics.

Enjoy

y'know, i'm looking for another project, but that is some truly bad artwork on that game... could he have made the girls look any more miserable?

#1424 10 years ago

the two player version is MUCH better... i like this...

Maybe that artwork was to keep the wife /gf from getting jealous.

Art Steinholm was not my favorite Gottleib artist by a long shot. He always drew the faces kind of weird with extra long, pointy noses. Maybe we should call that the pointy nose people, sort of like the pointy people era from Bally/Williams with Christian Marche artwork.

aab version of cross town (a recent "no call back" on cl)... i think his production numbers are off though, it would be pretty rare to have more aab's produced than replays?

The guy up here has had these listed many times on CL. Extra Inning is neither an AAB nor replay game. I guess you could argue that makes it really rare, but honestly, doesn't get good game play reviews and I wouldn't touch it. The other one......well BG is unobtanium so the question is moot!

Yes... Its been listed a number of times.

Interesting in that it is somewhat similiar in design to 'Big Hit', except no pop bumbers/drop targets... Only 350 units made though. I like the artwork too.

I wouldn't mind trying it to judge game play myself.

Good call. I used to let gameplay reviews and opinions influence my game purchases. After awhile I learned it is often very subjective and had some disappointments and pleasant surprises along the way.
