Quoted from bellbrand:someone sell me an EM.
You should buy Robert's Hit The Deck before somebody else does. The last Gottlieb EMs are DC rectified and play very fast.
Quoted from bellbrand:Okay I am hooked. I am ready to buy so someone sell me an EM.
List of ones I like thus far
Abra ca dabra
Sky jump (I passed on a nice one now regret it..
Neptune-totally kicked my butt fast and fun.
Atlantis kicked my butt still not completely sold on this one yet
Gottlied surfer
Spin out
All very good choices. Here is how I would rank them.
1 Atlantis
2 Abra Ca Dabra
3 Sky Jump
4 Neptune
5 Spin Out
6 Surfer
Spin Out and Surfer almost tie for me. I like the simple repetitive goals on Spin Out along with the flow. Surfer doesn't do it for me because you have to lose a ball to earn a special. But I don't currently own either. For the first three on the list you can't go wrong with drop targets. Too bad you passed on the Sky Jump.
Something will come along.

You 'passed' on that Sky Jump??
lol Chris, I hear ya. Snowed all last week here non-stop and we got buried a bit. My wife couldn't even get her car out of the driveway yesterday, as it's too slippery. Had to get towed out. Hope she can get out tonight. The suns out for a change, so maybe...

You should be able to find any of those 6 games you mentioned for less than $1000 for a very nice example, other than Atlantis maybe.

If you didn't already, you may want to put some time on the Bally Multiplayers he has there. You might find you like them and they are going to typically be easier and possibly cheaper to find for sale in nice condition as opposed to a Gott. Wedge head (except for games like Fireball, Capt. Fantastic and Wizard).
Sadly, with all the recent hype and the making of reproduction backglasses, an Abracadabra is going to be a hard one to find locally. Just ask Aurich what he paid to bring one in and bring it up to his standards.....

that certainly is unique...

1973 Williams Gulfstream, so it will be a fun game. It would be interesting to play that one. Good price too.

I like it!! Wonder what Williams game it was made from?
Quoted from poppapin:I like it!! Wonder what Williams game it was made from?
tbh, i like it too... i think it is rather cool...
Looks like the guy really put a lot of work into it. $850 seems like a fair price for such a labor of love. Aliens are cool.
Quoted from o-din:It's sort of "wish I was closer" cool.
yea... swmbo would LOVE that machine...
Quoted from MikeO:Unless it holds great sentimental value, I wouldn't go to great lengths to get an Aquarius.
I had been keeping my eye out for this game for several years also. Had played a few tired examples at shows not really knowing if it would really draw me in or not. Found one local for cheap last year and shopped it all out and it played OK. But not enough on it to shoot for to keep one around.
yea, i hear you... not really "sentimental value", and not the greatest player in the world either...
more of a "request" from my wife that i keep my eyes open for one... she saw a pic of one and really liked the art...

I wonder what was done inside, too! It seems like it might have gone all SS (what with the mp3 player for attract music and such)... hard to tell from the description, but regardless, yeah, not a bad-looking re-theme.
EDIT: I guess maybe only sounds were added -- original game-play mechanics seem to maybe not have been touched...?
Yeah very cool project and extra points for taking the theme to that level of finish. Not a lot of customs get that far before the owners bail out.
Wow, that's an impressive amount of what looks like professional work in that retheme. I still would prefer the original Gulfstream but this one may have been trashed.
Quoted from bellbrand:orangecounty.craigslist.org link Holy smokes!!
Seems like a lot of these have been for sale lately, some at way above normal prices IMO.

Anything interesting there Odin?

It was a bit pricey but nice.. at the time I didn't know if I would like the game and I didn't have all the funds for it and I felt bad for making the nice man wait for my decision.
I do think right now my flipper choice is 3" the games seem a bit quicker.
Quoted from bellbrand:the games seem a bit quicker.
Surfer/Surf Champ is one of the quickest EM's out there. Game is a lot of fun--lot of features packed in there. I sold 2 copies of Atlantis so far and am holding on to Surf Champ as long as I have room.

Have you played Neptune or hit the deck?? That was quick..

Well, that was considerate of you, glad to know 'somebody' out there still is these days!
Not sure why all these Sky Jumps seem to be up there in price or even why so many of them are showing up for sale. Maybe that's it, one or two sold for pretty good money and people that were considering selling are thinking now is a good time.
But the good side of it is... you have more time to hopefully play more EM's to help with your decision on what game you like.

Agreed: Surfer > Atlantis
Many Gottlieb single-player wedgeheads get preferential treatment because of their form factor and that universal "like likes like" thing. Gotta collect the whole set! But, truth be told, there are a fair number of Gottlieb 2/4-players which kick the crap out of the most beloved wedgies.
Larger backglass artwork is also pretty sweet.
Quoted from bellbrand:Have you played Neptune or hit the deck??
Have not played...no. I have heard from other Surfer/Champ owners that say same thing though.
Quoted from NicoVolta:I'll offer another:
Top Score > Centigrade 37
At a quarter the price!
Quoted from bellbrand:Have you played Neptune or hit the deck?? That was quick..
Thats because they are DC.
And very quick, no flipper buzz as well.
Quoted from bellbrand:Have you played Neptune or hit the deck?? That was quick..
Have owned and played both.
They don't have the flow of other games. You have a few shots that just hit posts because of the layout. But, overall, the rollover concept works pretty well. I give the game play a B+.
As for artwork they are both gorgeous games.
I still like drop target games better.

I saw it a couple of days ago. Didn't post it here (sorry).

certainly a lot cheaper re-theme than this one... and imo, better... not really sure why people thought they were going to get potentially 5 digits for it?
