me too, and i don't even like multi-player games... but $100 is too cheap to pass up... even if it turns out to be a bit of a rat, it's still too cheap to pass up...

Interesting how they made it so you could still play without an apron. If that were nearby I'd grab it.

couple of gun game parts listed in this ad... dunno what they came from, but might be useful to some...

#9809 9 years ago

"This pinball machine is from the early 1950's & does not show much wear. It only keeps score for one person, lights up but do not have the key for coin box."

It's from 1972, where do people come up with this stuff? and you can see the wear near the saucer, mine has the wear in the exact same spot.

i think that more cl advertisers get the year wrong than right...

GTB Team One for $650 near Milwaukee, WI:

There's been one in our neck of the woods for months.......started at $800 now down to $600. It actually looks pretty decent. I just can't get past the artwork, even though it's suppose to have decent game play with the Abra layout!

#9814 9 years ago

It seems like one or two will linger on Craigslist around here every few months. Actually I think that one has been listed before. I'd give one a whirl for the right price. The layout looks interesting and I've never player Abra or Team One.

#9815 9 years ago

I love my Abra Ca Dabra but I'm not an add a ball fan, rather have the replay version. Which of course has vastly superior artwork!

#9816 9 years ago

Unless of course you are a soccer fan.

I agree with all of the above but I would still love a Team One. The price difference evens out the art package and I like the art on TO.

I am a fan, I coach it. But I'd still way rather have the Abra Ca Dabra art.

i'm not a bally fan, nor a multi-player fan, but...

i like this... the art is attractive... game is fun... 500 doesn't sound too unreasonable...

#9823 9 years ago

yes, nice game Chris, but San Diego is a long road trip from your joint. Be sure to pick me up on your way

sure will... someone has gotta help me load up games, because if we are going to san diego, we will also have to visit the kingdom of odin to meet the socal gang and pry a couple games outta his hands....

i gotta buy a hearse first though... gotta do it right if i'm gonna do it...

Bottom half is Jumping Jack revisted, great challenge to keep the ball moving down there to escape a drain. $500 seems like a good deal if there are no hidden issues. Game gets lots of love around here.

#9826 9 years ago

lol Chris, good reply. A hearse and visiting the kingdom of o-din. Here we come!

yea, i played one at allentown (last year? the year before?) and i can see why it gets lots of love... it was fun, and i really like the art...

one of the socal vultures should take a looksee at it...

#9828 9 years ago

travel time - $300(obo) - new groton (ct)

could be a good deal...

Leave O-din's games in the same place you found them. I wish to play them again on my next visit sometime this year.

#9831 9 years ago

Bally El Toro $895

#9832 9 years ago

Tag Team isn't an EM, but it sure plays like one. Quite a deal for $500. Better grab this one, Floridians!

should i ever be lucky enough to be able to make the rotordave epic hearse and pinball acquisition tour, i will leave something behind at odin's to replace whatever i remove...

If this were the price is right, there is no combination of those three numbers that would properly represent the actual value of an "El Toro".

Pretty Backglass but oh!, what a Toad of a game.

el toro is an important game in the history of pinball... it proves the rule of "there are no bad pinball machines" by serving as the exception...

You mean like Williams Toledo or Big Ben?

And a 'tad' more 70's Williams titles we could add to that list, CJ.

#9839 9 years ago

historical curiosity question:

wms made a lot of great games in the 60's... why/how did they start turning out a relatively large number of "not nearly as fun ones" in the 70's?

#9840 9 years ago
Quoted from ccotenj:

Same can be said for all manufacturers. They abandoned 2 inch flippers and bells.

#9841 9 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

fair enough point there...

maybe my wedgie bias is showing a bit here, but it still seems like gtb made a lot of good games through the 70's, but the good wms games aren't as common...

could be simply an "exposure" issue on my part as well... i played a lot more gtb games than wms games during that time period...

dunno, was just curious...

Good question, I can only surmise.

And then there's the little item... of it only being 'my point of view'.

#9843 9 years ago
Quoted from ccotenj:

I never said they didn't. Just that I prefer the 60s games with short flippers and bells which to me are "funner".

Quoted from Pinballprowess:

yea, there is that little thing, isn't there?

kinda what i was alluding to by "exposure"... it's entirely possible i just haven't been exposed to enough of them...

See here again... I feel that Gottlieb did a much better job when they went to 3 inch flippers.

And I feel Krynski was the reason for that.

i agree completely with this... even if you replace "bells" with "chimes", that works for me...

when i first got into this a few years ago, i never thought i'd end up preferring machines like that over 3", drop target games... but i do...

#9848 9 years ago

You hear that often how Gottlieb made so many great games in the 70s. With that said it seems like the guys that collect them generally focus on the same 10-15 games.

To be fair though I'd consider myself a Williams fan. They certainly had their fair share of games in the 70s with poor artwork, poor gameplay or both. That's why I like the 60s so much.

#9849 9 years ago

Ha! There's that word again!

Definitely time to contact Wikipedia and have them add that word to the English language.

definitely another very fair point...
