First-time user here. Please feel free to give me all the direction you want.
I work for a company in American Fork, Utah. We want to get a good pinball machine for our break room.
I want something good. Not just a cheap-o. The only machine I have decent experience with is Indiana Jones (2008). I've played it quite a bit. So, I like that there's some decent strategy to that game, and it has a decent theme. Of course, it has to be "work-friendly". So anything that focuses too much on politics, religion, or sexual content is out.
I'm also hoping it can be something recently built. The idea of maintaining a classic model is not enticing.
Thanks in advance for your responses!
Sincerely,
Shane

I would buy a new Stern Star Trek Pro or Iron Man Pro Vault Edition it will cost under $5k shipped to your door and will be the best decision you have ever made. or have everyone at work vote for what game to get from your distributors available games list. I think all of the Stern Pros are fun games and you won't be disappointed with any of them.

I agree with IM. Its has a theme everyone knows and is a short game which is ideal in a work environment.

So far, it seems most people are saying stick with a Stern Pro, and most people are saying Star Trek. Maybe Iron Man as a second place.

I will do some more homework on what I can find among some older solid states. I like the idea of a classic, if it's reliable.

I'll also research Williams a little too. It will probably come down to budget.

Thanks to everyone for your help.

Out of curiosity, any of you board gamers? This forum has been responsive and helpful, without being rude. It reminds me of another great forum site in which I'm very active: boardgamegeek.com

If you're ever interested in getting into that hobby (I see a natural connection between the two), that's the site to go to.

Thanks again! I'll keep checking in for more of your great responses.

Yeah, I bet there is a lot of overlap. Pinball is like a board game that you play with dexterity.

And there is a whole genre of dexterity board games to explore. For starters, see Crokinole: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/521/crokinole

If you got a No Good Gofers you could change BUZ and BUD to the two folks who are least liked that are no longer with the firm. That way you can pound them as you would BUD and BUZ. Kinda like a dart board with your ex-friend's picture on it. It could be a real "team building " experience.

I have a "Junkyard" in my office. Excellent theme for my business. Plan on relocating my "Square Head" and "Road Show" to the office too. Great for weekend work. Too loud for daily use. Does life get any better?

So what did you get ?

I think a fast-playing, accessible but challenging classic like an Eight Ball Deluxe would fit the bill nicely! If they've been shopped fully, and the boards have been bulletproofed, there's not a whole lot to go wrong on games of that era.

If you're looking to spend a little more, and want something fancier, a Stern pro (basically their fleet model) new in box is probably a good bet.
