I am looking for information and pictures of the solid brass lock down bar that was used for The Addams Family gold.
I heard from a reliable source that some of the early versions of the gold edition might have had a solid brass lockdown bar. I am looking to confirm this and hoping someone has pictures of one.
I am really hoping to find more information on the one I have. It’s solid brass (cast) and it’s got some weight to it. The mounting tabs are stainless steel and attached with screws and nuts. Someone sure went through a lot of trouble to make this. It’s an interesting piece whether it came from an early version of Addams Family gold or not.

Thank you! There is another one! That is pretty much the same as mine, a solid cast brass lockdown bar. I see yours only has one screw holding the mounting tabs to the solid brass part and mine has 2 screws but I’d be willing to bet these were made by the same person/company. Would love to know the origin of these.
Quoted from Bangback:I picked up my TAFG in 1995 and it had a similar brass lockdown bar as pictured above but had a steel plate either glued or welded to it. The sides of it where the hands rest had dulled a bit, but I believe it to be solid brass and not brass plated? Though I’m not sure? Otherwise wouldn’t the wear spots be silver in color? When I got my game, I ordered a new one from WMS and the replacement was also the same. I've kept the worn one on my game to play, fearful that the replacement I got would look the same way after a while. I remember the price being expensive at the time, and I think I ordered it through Mazzco, which eventually got bought out by Happ. Below are pictures of the one that came on my game and the replacement I got from WMS.

Interesting. That one is different. It appears to be solid brass but stamped and it has a normal undercarriage. Thank you for sharing. I’m wondering why there was ones that were cast when a tool already existed to make the piece.
Quoted from LTG:Somebody reproduced them years later. I've seen a couple like that.
The person doing that didn't have access to what Williams used.
LTG : )
Wow! Anyone know who made the cast ones? How many were made? It would have been so much easier to have a normal lockdown bar plated if they were just trying to replicate an original.
