Has anyone tried these to repair a harness? I have to repair all the wires on a Bally A3J3 connector that was hacked and left too short. I'm guessing they are 24 to 30 gauge wires. I hate trying to solder splice wires that are his small and found these on Amazon. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I've always wondered how well these worked. Following.

I ordered the 200 piece. Heck if they don't work, not too much of an investment and can probably use for other projects. I also ordered a variable temp heat gun per the advice from the reviews.

I’ve worked with something like these years ago, and we had a special tip you attached to a heat gun to melt the solder, the heat shrink tubing, and the glue on the ends to seal the splice. They worked really well.

That said, these do not appear to have glue to seal the ends, and I can only assume the tubing is heat shrink type. It would probably work, but unless you have the proper tip, I would be worried about uneven heating of the solder and tubing. Then again, for what it’s being used on, uneven/incomplete heating may not be an issue.

I use these things called “terminal barrier block connectors” when connecting a mess of wires. It’s faster and, if you make a mistake, it’s a lot easier to resolve.

They are especially useful for designing new playfields.
