Solar Fire
Williams, 1981Hi folks,
When you play Solar Fire with 2 or more players, can you "steal" locked balls from the oher players?
If player 1 locks one or two balls, can player three start a multiball aftre locking only the last ball? (like Elvira), or kicks the machine another locked ball into play so that you have to lock all your own balls? (like Firepower)

I've thought about this before and have always wondered what the general consensus is. For games like Whirlwind where the balls are stacked in the left lock behind a single kicker, compensating by releasing a single ball back into play wouldn't be possible.
Many games like that you have to watch that you don't leave captured balls for the next player.
Think of SpaceShuttle where you could leave all the balls locked and then the next player can steal them in a single ramp shot.
Makes for interesting strategy, just like billiards - You've got to watch how you leave the table for the next player.

As an aside, some games you can program so that locked ball are ejected between players.
