This only happened once in about 35-40 games played but I would love to figure out what happened. Before this, the game had not been played much as I have been cleaning it up and getting it running.

The Solar City I’m working on froze once during the Bonus scan process. The ball went into the outhole and the bonus unit started the process of scanning for bonus drop targets. During the scan, it just froze and the game, although lit, was no longer able to play.

A power cycle fixed the issue.

I checked the countdown coil, everything checked out OK but I cleaned the plunger, coil stop, and changed the sleeve since I had everything apart. I also checked all the wires mentioned above. That all measured OK.

What was a little off was the travel of the lever arm that counts down on the Bonus unit. It was almost catching two teeth per step. I shortened the travel.

Let’s see what it does.
