I guess it was back in the late 80's, a buddy of mine was making extra money w/ a side job selling firewood.
So, we decided to increase production.
We came across a used motor driven, hydraulic operated, trailer mounted log splitter unit. Had a small 4-cyl car motor mounted on it.
It worked for a while, split a lot of logs, then at some point the hydr pump stopped working.
Eventually we figured out were to get pump parts for it.
Got it fixed, back up running, split a bunch more logs.
At some point I lost interest, and it sat for a year or two, then gave it to a friend of the family.

It looked a lot like this pic I found online, but ours had a longer trailer frame with the 4-cyl motor mounted on it also.

Quoted from DaveH:

Dude... Fire Truck! A gator vs a Fire Truck! The Truck for the win!
Fire Truck man is my F'ing hero.

Don't forget tugboat guy. Tugboat guy at a minimum gets a wildcard spot in these wacky purchase play-offs.

Quoted from Joker2415:

Recreational and moving vehicles are exempt if for personal use.
Now, does a firetruck fall into "recreational vehicle" if it's not being used for anything other than advertisement and recreation? If "retired" can it get recreational status?

This one down in Louisiana is owned by the family that owns/runs Drago's Seafood Restaurants.
Both recreational use and business promo use.

Some pics included here of useful recreational mods to do to your firetruck, ...Louisiana style!
