I find it a bit humorous how quickly convincing myself I was going to try and own one pinball machine became an addiction to begin gathering and collecting as many as I can along with whatever knowledge and information I can learn about the hobby along the way. I know plenty of others have felt the obsession take ahold of them, so I just thought this would be a fun poll topic with silly answers as well as a distraction from some of the other less than fun posts regarding certain incidents that have been dominating the bandwidth here lately.

These responses are great, thanks to everyone who has participated so far! I'm sitting on 3, with a project a friend and I are working on about to be finished today. I have room for at least 4 more that I can set up to play and I'm clearing out my garage. I hunt for them all day every day wherever I can and I see no change in that anytime soon other than I'm constantly trying to pick up the pace and do even more. I can't say my wife is as thrilled as I am about pinball, especially with a Tales from the Crypt sitting right inside my front door the foyer between my living room / dining room area which is really all one big open area space with no walls. Luckily, a MegaTouch I just grabbed gets her in the downstairs game room with me at least.

Hell yea, this is part of what pinball is all about, and the hunt and going through titles is exhilarating! Keep the stories coming people and thanks for your participation!

I always wanted a super chexx and still do, but it is a bit difficult to play a 1 player game of that!

I've got to quit browsing the pinballs for sale everywhere! I see too many I want right now! Luckily I got some goodies in the mail today that will be enhancing some of my existing games... Lol, I guess that could be its own thread - how much on average do you spend enhancing each game! I'm probably around $250-500 per game on average.

Again, thanks for your stories, this has been an entertaining thread as well as confirmation that we're all completely normal.

    Quoted from DefaultGen:

I'm around $1600 into TZ already

Now that one I can completely understand, there's just so many different kinds of mods you can throw into that game!

I had a lot of fun doing Tales from the Crypt and I'm not done yet either. Probably into it a good $500 now, but I'd say 1/2 that was repair / restoration related, plus LED's, rubbers, hardware, flipper kits, and other misc "working order" needs. Gofers got me for about $300 so far, but that game was just dirty when I got it, not worn. Alien Star set me back a good $480 just for board work, a back glass, 2 score displays and then I still had to do rubbers, LED's, & etc.

I haven't really gotten too crazy with mods yet... I mainly just bring them back to 100% working order, with as much touch up repair I'm capable of.. After that, a few enhancements, mainly LED's and sometimes a few toys and gadgets... Part of the problem is I'm trying to acquire as many games as quickly as possible and a few thousand in mods and repairs costs me a game or two every time!
