Interesting way to look at it I guess.
I never "got" Ghostbusters. I was 19 when it came out. Target audience. People loved it. I didn't get it then, and I don't get it now. Zero desire to ever watch the film again. And the music. Oh God, the music! If they have this song on the pin, I won't buy it just out of principle!

And I'm actually not hard to please when it comes to themes. TWD is a theme I love. So is GOT. Tron, IM, Avengers, X-Men, TF, LOTR, AC/DC, MET, and Star Trek are all themes that I really like, so Stern has done good in my eyes in terms of picking themes (implementation has varied greatly though).
GB just doesn't do it for me.

That is ironic! And of course I agree, GB doesn't hold up well at all...not that I ever liked it to begin with.
It really sucks for me, because it does sound like GB will be Stern's first pin with an LCD, and I more than likely won't be buying it because of the theme.
