Wow - a Jimi Hendrix pin with DD artwork would be absolutely amazing, especially next to TBL!!!
Jimi would be kind of a dream theme for me.
My dream theme choice for a music pin would be Johnny Cash. Kind of a long shot, I know. But they made Elvis, so why not Johnny Cash? Lots of similarities there.
Quoted from woody24:
If Stern takes action from all those saying the artwork is terrible, the next machine will be a blank canvas. All white cabinet, with an all white playfield, with all white plastics, and you'll get a bag of markers with a letter attached that says, "Here! Lets see you do a #$^*ing better job!"
Not a bad idea...
I am going with Nate Shivers on this one. He said that maybe they had thrown around the idea of using the Hendrix license and there is a story behind it. Perhaps his daughter wondered if he wanted to tell the story of when they might have pursued the Hendrix license.
You gotta believe that they do not get every license they seek.
I just had a thought: maybe Zombie Yeti is doing the artwork on the Spiderman vault edition. That seems more likely than a Ghostbusters game, no?
If you're going with custom art, I think it would make sense to commission the art from someone in the comics industry that has history with the character. That said, my bet is they'll use existing comic art similar to what they did with X-men. I think this is a reasonable approach as there is 50 years of great art to draw from.
I'm in for a Spider-man VE if it actually does happen, here's hoping.
Jimi Hendrix done by Dirty Donny / Lyman / John Borg would be absolutely freaking amazing. So many songs could be used to inspire the art and gameplay:
My favorite Jimi album is "9 to the Universe", but it's all instrumental, long-play songs.
Here's Donny's Jimi Hendrix artwork - if this is on the playfield or backglass, I'm in.
If they were really smart they'd go for something like Steven Universe or Rick and Morty, if just to have callouts by people who aren't dead.
Ricky & Morty would represent a bit of a risk for Stern, so doubt they'd do it.
But omg wouldn't it be the most amazing theme????
Aerosmith? What a shame, Motorhead would be so much better, better art, better music by far for pinball. At least I'm saving money with these themes, old rock bands and kids films.
Maybe they should do Kingdom while it's still fresh. If they wait five years it will be just another cool theme from yesterday.
Stern's next game will probably be something along the lines of telling their customers that a borked left orbit that drops balls into the pops was actually "the way it was designed."
I hate playing games like that.

I will be back over next year but my Mrs and daughter are both wet pants so Disney and Universal beckon once again.
Tell me about it (married to a wimpy wife, and have a wimpy step daughter) We had a good time, and they rode enough to keep me happy so it was a win win.
I've heard Little Caesars Pizza Pinball Love... I cannot reveal the source of this image, but it is definitely legit.
According to my sources, it's Milli Vanilli.
The game will give you great awards, then take them away.
I'd love an OK GO table. With the creativity of their videos applied to a pin, I think you'd have a winner.
