I have a System 1 (Countdown) with this, and the lower flippers have 1 in which the tip is broken off and one in which the tip is intact.
The Pinball Resource seems to say that it is better to have the tip removed, as evidently it caused more problems than it was worth.

So one way or another, I will have them both be the same, either getting the one with the broken replaced with a pin, or breaking the pin off the other one and calling it a day.

I generally trust the advice from PBR but there have been some instances where my flipper style didn’t match their recommendations and some chime configurations were off.
I also haven't noticed anything (i.e., on a different playfield, not the one I was referring to) either. I may as well keep it OEM; I could always chop it off.
