If someone did something to the underside of the playfield there, they may have been trying to fix the drac track, where the playfield in front of Dracula droops from the weight of the motorized mechanism mounted underneath and ball hits against the exposed back edge of the Drac track result in dings and damage. A simple support bracket to correct sagging is available through Pinball Heaven (and possibly others). I installed one on a brand new OEM playfield just as a preventative measure when I completely rebuilt my MB several years ago.
