Does it have to be alien? No.
If it is breaking the laws of physics as we know it, and it is ours or some other known terrestrial group, someone has been lying a long time, and that is bad news for us.
To say camera tricks or swamp gas implies the US gov't telling a tall tale. Wouldn't be the first time, but given the already high level of mistrust, I don't see it ending well.
Or, the truth will come out.
And no one will care.
With legal weed shops open everywhere and the country being paid to sit around at home, will the masses become outraged?
