OH NO, THERE GOES THE PINBALL SHOW, THERE'S NO GODZILLA
EcfvfoUUr4Gj5atiJMVJ9a (resized).jpgIf I were seeing this first as a whitewood, and then the finished product, I'd undoubtedly go 'wow'.
But I'm finding the 'wow' a bit more difficult straight off the bat, because of the artwork. Don't get me wrong, it's amazingly pretty and colourful artwork... but just like AIQ, it's distracting. It makes the game look way more cluttered than it actually is and doesn't define the shots or the lamps so well, which - say what you like about it - Mandelorian does. You would expect the new mechs the team are proud of to stand out more than they appear to. All this might be a gameplay problem if the LCD throws a constant barrage of game data at you in small type and you're expected to follow that instead of what's on the playfield. In that case, learning the game is going to require watching other people play to see how features start and how the screen reacts when they do. Between this and AIQ, it's like Stern are intending Elwin games deliberately to be hyped up by streamers after the LEs are bought sight unseen.
Of course, this is just first impressions from the playfield photos on this thread. Photographs aren't three-dimensional. Seeing the real thing in person may give a completely different contrast.

Oh good, Jeff's back. Yes, those close-up shots give me a much clearer idea of what everything physical is or does. I didn't recognise the bridge or the magna-newton to begin with.
