I have automatic and deep respect for anybody that comes from a colder place than me (Iowa).

The coldest I remember was -28F. That was ~10 years ago. The pipes in my pizza place burst. That really made me happy. I miss Iowa, but I don't miss the cold. And I really don't miss the snow. And I now live among folks who seem to believe that they suffer terrible winter weather, in the south.

Currently 55F at 7:20 PM.

Stay warm. I've got to travel to a funeral in Iowa shortly. So, I'll get a refresher on what actual cold feels like again.

As I mentioned earlier, I spent this past week in Iowa. We buried my mom-in-law on the coldest day in over a decade (Wednesday). The thermometer on the rental car said -25F as I made a spontaneous run to walmart for some additional cold weather gear, when I woke up. It said -15F as we drove to the burial. Windchill was reported as -30F to -50F.

Out to the cemetery everybody!

I have instituted a new rule for visits back home. I will only travel to Iowa between the time that corn gets planted and Halloween.

It's 60F right now in Charlotte.
