It's "Hockey Day Minnesota" today. Basically a bunch of high school teams, and a few select college teams, play in games all day at a select city outdoors. This year is in Bemidji, MN, on a lake.
This morning, when the puck dropped for two HS teams, Minnetonka and Andover, it was -30F (-34C). Yikes!
However, it's fun to watch from your 70F living room.
You Canadians definitely have it worse than us on a consistent basis. We're nearing a record low tonight of -29F (-30F is the record in 1887) in Minneapolis, with wind chills at about -55F. Of course on Saturday, it's supposed to be 37F, which is a 66 degree turnaround in three days. Crazy weather.

We deal with these harsh winters for the amazing summers. Or at least that is what I keep telling myself.

I've never heard of that either.
They are cancelling mail service tomorrow in Minnesota, Iowa, western Wisconsin and western Illinois. That makes a little more sense.
