I love to ice fish & do some other activities outdoors.</blockquote
That a nice crappie you got there! Love to fish, do it every weekend during the warm months here in Ohio. Lots of tourney fishing for money too. Pic is of my last tourney winners.

You should get a "Fish Tales" and stay inside!!!

Google the "Vanity Cup" or the "Premiers Cup" in Nipawin, Sk. Some serious walleye fishing here!

Nice radios! Do you happen to have a cap list for a zenith 8S661? I have been meaning to fix mine for years, the schematics are hard to read the values.

Quoted from scampcamp:

To me... it pretty much feels the same when it gets down to gets below 5 F
It helps keeping the riffraff out... or a lot of it anyways.

Thanks. I’ve learned the Pinball collector crowd are much more fun to hang around.

Thank you, if I can’t find a parts list on a schematic I’ll call a guy that usually will make up a kit. It costs a little more but not much.

Here’s a page where you can download the schematic.

I take that back. 0 does not feel the same as -18 With a -49° windchill.

It hurts.

#59 5 years ago

This issue I run into constantly. On days off it’s crazy cold, then when I’m at work it’s like +5. Warm enough to work on a machine in the garage!

#60 5 years ago

Well both our cars started, but the door to get into work was frozen today. Unfortunately we got it open. -18f. -35 windchill. Theybare saying -30 tonight.

Yeah it was a nice weekend across the board I think. +8 in Jasper for a hockey tournament I was playing in. The ice was soft needless to say

You Canadians definitely have it worse than us on a consistent basis. We're nearing a record low tonight of -29F (-30F is the record in 1887) in Minneapolis, with wind chills at about -55F. Of course on Saturday, it's supposed to be 37F, which is a 66 degree turnaround in three days. Crazy weather.

#65 5 years ago

ahhhhhh Ohio, why would you live anywhere else, get frostbitten today and sunburned tomorrow, the fun just never ends.....16F today, wind chill 1F; 2F tomorrow with wind chill of -33F but, not all is lost 60F by Sunday.

#66 5 years ago

Talk about brutal. Check out Fargo, North Dakota.

Drove thru Minneapolis/ St. Paul in the summertime many years ago. Felt jealous, very nice time of the year up there.

#73 5 years ago

You guys need to keep that shit up north where it belongs. Tomorrow morning here in st louis its gonna be -3 and the wind chill is supposed to be -27. Pretty damn sure the boiling water trick would work here if I had any intentions of actually going out in that crap.

#74 5 years ago

I know it gets pretty cold out there but I'd love to live in Montana, a lot of Gods country left still and all of it is beautiful.

Got 3 paid days off this week...thanks Polar Vortex!!!

Well, I would say for the most part we’re in the same boat especially if you live in Northern Minnesota... certainly brethren when it comes to winter punishment. The majority of Canada’s major populated areas are consistently warmer than MN in the wintertime. There are exceptions of course (see pics). And I can’t even imagine what -81F (-63C) would begin to feel like. I’ve personally experienced -32F (-35.6C) and pretty sure we’re going to beat that this week at our cabin.

Gonna be some babies born here in next 10 months?

#78 5 years ago

Yeah that’s pretty brutally cold. Here in Edmonton really cold winter days are in around -30/-35 degrees C. However, we had one night in 2009 -46 C ( -51 F).... my fan belt on my furnace broke that night. You could see your breath in the house within 3-4 hours of it breaking.

I grew up in northern Minnesota and the coldest day I can remember was in January 2004 and the bank clock said -35 in the middle of the afternoon. That image is engraved in my head because it seemed so unbelievable at the time. I was helping my sister shop for a used vehicle and the dealer had to pull it in to their shop overnight to let it thaw out.

Funny I was just talking to a guy aboot January 18-19 1994 which was the coldest we could remember. We were both in college and went to an 8am classes, I rode a bike probably 2-3 miles and it was like -40WC or some shit. It was warmer the next day but they canceled classes.

It was renamed Global Climate Change like 20 years ago...you know when the world started exhibiting a bunch of climate changes.

I've never heard of that either.

They are cancelling mail service tomorrow in Minnesota, Iowa, western Wisconsin and western Illinois. That makes a little more sense.

It’s 72 degrees in Anaheim. I’m going to Disneyland!! We never get snow days here!! Off to work.

I hope everyone stays safe in the Midwest and East coast!!
