So, even with the PBR "reinforced" slot machine target, it still got bent back over only a few hundred games, and it still had enough spring in it to act as a catapult and fling balls behind the magnaflip sign and over the flippers.

Time to get serious. Yes, that's a bar of quarter inch steel backing it. Bracket is 25% wider and 50% thicker than the commercial "reinforced" one. Screws upsized as well for durability.

Now THIS solves the problem, ball now bounces off that target like any other target, instead of it being a near guaranteed airball.

    Nice job Doc.

    Looks abundantly stout!

Wow, that's like the Volvo of targets. Can you make me some?

    nice job,
I just used a piece of flat steel bent around the enclosure (under the slot machine plastic ) that supports the other targets as well, no drilling or screws used just a nice tight fit , been there for 9 years = thousands of plays. Sorry about the crap photo with the flash. BTW still haven't changed the broken plastic (it is still sitting in the coin box) - too busy playing it

I'm surprised that doesn't short something out.

I too have the same prob with my PBR target. I have to bend it forward every so often.

Same boat. I found the newer target still gets bent, so I had a buddy whip up one of these from here ( http://marvin3m.com/tzmod/ ). Works perfect, no more bending or air balls off that target.

    Easy, cheap, non-permanent mod.
